Savion Frazier has committed to Tennessee.
The tailback/linebacker from Woodbridge, Va. told UTs coaches of his decision this weekend, according to his high school coach Joe Mangano.
"Hes the real deal in every possible way," Mangano said. "I would say that he is by far the best high school football player Ive ever been associated with. Hes got greatness written all over him."
Mangano said the 6-foot-1, 208-pound Frazier has a 3.0 grade point average, is a two-year captain and holds every weight room record at Gar-Field High School.
Mangano said Frazier has also run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and posted the seventh best Sparq rating in Virginia during a spring football combine. The Sparq system is designed to test speed and quickness.
"He brings a lot of things to the table that are going to be great for Tennessee," Mangano said.
On the field, Frazier has been red hot recently. He just completed his third 200-yard rushing effort of the season. He has 1,110 yards on 144 carries with 14 touchdowns. He also has two sacks, two interceptions and a punt return for a touchdown this season.
Mangano said the best is yet to come.
"Hes got that desire," he said. "Hes going to excel in college.
UT is recruiting Frazier as an outside linebacker and was the first to offer him a scholarship when it did so last spring. Frazier also has offers from Virginia Tech, Duke, Marshall and Louisville.
