Hows is James Stone and Zach Fulton not on this list? Tyler Bray? This is laughable.

It's not a list for guys whose poor blocking led to the most sacks and QB knockdowns. I guess they just ran out of freshman linemen who actually saw significant pt, so J. James just got picked by default.

Bray probably could have made the list had he played all year, but it would be tough to give him the nod over Murray who started the whole season.

Don't know much of anything about Propst. I honestly didn't know he was even on the field all that often.

No doubt Smith and Hunter deserved the selection.

Congrats to all the VOLS who made the team. I think Probst will be good for us later down the road and I'm not trying to dissrespect him but HOW does he make the team with special teams and mop up duty and our STARTING center Stone doesn't??
But none the less the future is very bright for us.
GO VOLS!!!

At what point did any of the o-line look good this year? Please tell me. Was it when we couldn't run the ball against UK, one of the worst rushing defenses in the conference? Was it all year as our QB's got pounded on almost every throw?

These guys may turn out to be serviceable players at some point, but people acting like they're going to be some sort of all-world offensive line down the road is a little over the top IMO. After a full season you would think that at some point they would have at least looked decent. I don't know how many freshman o-lineman saw a lot of pt, give me a break on the all-conference honors. Just because they were on the field a lot doesn't necessarily mean they were the best the SEC had to offer.

We had a couple who were looking good though. Zach Fulton, Ju'Wuan James, and James Stone. Shaw was never an SEC-caliber lineman, and none of them are playing at the level you would expect from older guys. But that doesn't mean they're not better than the other freshmen in the conference.

Ok, we'll consider the whole game against Oregon as a time this year that they looked good. (The team averaged 5.1 YPC in the game and only allowed 2 sacks, not bad at all). That's two out of 24 halves. Does it concern you that they weren't putting the pieces together and steamrolling teams like Memphis and UK who can't stop the run at all? At some point they just are what they are. They've now seen as much SEC experience as many guys who are juniors, guys who don't get a free pass because they're "young". At what point will that stop being a valid excuse for them playing bad every week?

Care to provide a link for where you found this stat? If so, I'll happily retract my statement. If he really only gave up 2 sacks then I suppose the other 4 on the o-line bear the majority of the burden for it's crappy play this season.

In your next post are you going to say he gave up zero? The number seems to be shrinking with each post.

According to Dooley it stopped around the Ole Miss game, so in my mind their free pass was over before the end of the season. Regardless, you can't compare them to juniors, even juniors that only earned their starting position this year. Those juniors have had 2-3 years of college level training and conditioning, plus that amount of time to learn the play book, adjust to college life, heck, even just adjust to being away from home. Even though they allowed a lot of sacks, our boys still continued to improve each week. Stone alone learned 3 positions, ending up mastering arguably the 2nd most challenging position on the offense, so he more than earned my respect.:salute:

Take it up with the coaches who voted for them.
