i love Rome, but sometimes he opens his mouth before A. gathering all the facts or B. thinking.

What he said was moderately humorous, but he still sucks. I suspend all rational thought when voicing my opinion for Jim Rome.

I don't mind Rome. He is a little much sometimes, but he is a nice change of pace from your normal talk radio.

I don't really care for thee guy or his show, but he does have some good one liners now and then! I believe he posts on here as Hatvol!

He's too in love with himself for me to take serouis
This is true, but it is just something different than your average sports talk show. I do not put any merit in what he is saying in regards to sports, I just listen to him for a poops and hahas.

I always listen to Rome hoping to hear something intersting or insightful. My friends tell me they love him. I have listened several times and my opinion is:

he sucks

i can't stand to watch his show, i wonder how it's still on the air. of course, not counting the girl in rocky top's avatar, there's very little on espn that i enjoy anymore

Agreeing with him, and finding it entertaining are two different things. His function is not to inform, but entertain. I find him entertaining.

Couldn't agree with you more. I heard an interview he did with Fulmer the week after we blew out Cal and Rome had nothing but praises for Phil. Talked about how 'he is one of the classiest coaches in America' and Vol Fans need to "get off his back". Now he's blasting him for punishment of Foster?

So if anyone in the Media makes a negative comment or disagreea with our program then they are idiots and suck? I agree with Rome and think that Fulmer is over looking the fact that underage players were drinking. I know every one does it but it seemed like Fulmer is more worried about the fight than the fact that his players are drinking.

for the record, i've never liked jim rome... even when he makes remarks i agree with I just don't like how he goes about it.. it's just not entertaining. blasting the suspensions has nothing to do with it

He comes off as a wise ass even when he's making a valid point. It's that whole "in your face" "shock jock" thing that Rome and JT The Brick, Bruce Jacobs, those kind of guys impliment into their show.

Look I was reading RJYH about that talk show host in Alabama that absolutley rips Alabama and Auburn all the time. He's the highest ranked in Alabama it goes on to say.

Rome uses him "hardcore"-ness to piss off people and get them interested. Us posting about it, getting angry is playing right into his hand because someone from this thread will watch that show tomarrow, or somehow look him up, which equals better rating for Rome. It's a vicious cycle.

Face it, Rome is pretty dang funny unless he is talking about a team/player/event that you care about. Sooner or later he cracks on about everyone.

I don't watch Rome's TV show, but I like his radio show. He will say things that others shy away from. I agree with alot of his "takes", and find his show entertaining and sometimes funny. His interviews are usually pretty good as well. What turns me off about his show are that some of the "jungle regulars" are more concerned about talking trash about each other than talking about the actual sports topics of the day, and I sometimes wish that it was even less caller-driven than it is. As far as Rome goes, I like him, but I guess like some of you others have said, I guess he's more about entertaining the listener/viewer than anything. Count me as being entertained!

I didn't hear the context of the Foster comment, but I'd say that he was tryin' to be more funny than anything.
