FOSTER in the NFL draft

Are you a 250 pound African American?

That's your excuse for him? I have been a 250 pound Caucasian American in the past.(Roughly 50 lbs. lighter now, phew...)

Or is it really just the skin color that you were getting at? Because either way, I don't see too many other 250 pound African American's at UT or any other school getting arrested for doing nothing more than breaking up fights.

Maybe it wasn't because I was a UT football player that kept me from getting arrested? They probably try to throw those guys into jail any time they get the opportunity though. Just like every other athlete at major schools.

You were never in the same situation. A cop never came up to you while you were trying to separate two enormous black guys. Whether you like it or not, that kind of thing is going to make a police officer nervous.

Yeah. Find that post that says Arian is better than those guys and then you won't have wasted your time.

You're the one that has wasted time if anyone. Then again, you DID just insert your own meaning behind me posting his stats by comparison, so you didn't really have to pay much attention anyway if you didn't want to.

Gatorhater used him being the potential all time leading rusher as a crutch as to why he's been so great here and why he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as those guys. I think that speaks for itself doesn't it? Or does that only count for my post in this scenario?

Assuming Foster goes on to break the rushing record, how many people do you think will consider him the greatest Vols running back of all time, or anywhere near the Top 5 for that matter?

I could give a rat's ass. He's been doing fine here. Look at the running backs and their production over the last several years. Maybe it isn't all Arian's fault that the ground game hasn't been so hot since Travis Stephens graduated. He wouldn't be able to break that record if he wasn't any good. There's no reason for people to pile on him after he just had a 1000 yard season and was probably our offensive MVP. It's no surprise that in the games where he was underutilized the Vols lost big.

A. You have no idea what kinds of situations myself or someone else has been in. I've been in several of those exact situations while bartending, being security at bars, and even being bystanders with drunken friends who have been in fights and started fights. The only situation that you would consider different is that I'm not black. Which means you'd think make it a racially motivated thing. Even though it was black on black fighting so it appears.

B. Nevermind the under age consumption and disorderly conduct towards the police officers.

C. Yes, that's enough to make police officers nervous, but so is probably 80% of their job. That's a poor excuse for just grabbing someone up and tossing them into jail.

D. If all he was doing was breaking up a fight, surely they would have noticed that. Granted that was the spin later on, but Holbert and Wardlow started fighting after that again. Why is it the "mediator" in the fight was the 1st one arrested?

A. Awfully quick on the uptake there. And even if they were black, I doubt you or guys you know are as muscle-bound as Arian Foster and David Holbert. The situation was different. Accept it.

B. Show me where it says Foster did that.

C. Officers don't need a good excuse. You obviously don't have much experience with the KPD.

D. Again. It's the KPD. They run around Knoxville with paddywagons looking for guys to fill it.

Find a post where I piled on him negatively and you'll realize you didn't waste your time......to take a few words from you.

I never said anything negative about what he's doing. I simply pointed out that him being the all time leading rusher doesn't make him better than Travis Henry, Travis Stephens, Jamal Lewis, Johnnie Jones, etc.

Nor should it enter him into the same breath as those guys.

He's done a good job this year and has been one of the few steady players this year, but that doesn't mean he's better than he actually is.

Those big games in where he was underutilized wouldn't have mattered anyway considering how the games went. Alabama is the ONLY one you could even say that about because the other two we were too far behind anyway.(Regular season games of course. His 2.6 per carry in the SECCG can be excluded because I'm sure that's what you meant.)

Did the Vols lose big in the SEC Championship? The rest isn't worth it.

A. Awfully quick to try looking for other excuses to make the situation different. 250 pounds is 250 pounds no matter how you shake it out.

B. Three Tennessee football players arrested at nightclub after loss to LSU - USATODAY.com

""
According to police, there were several individuals fighting, attempting to fight and yelling at each other when officers arrived at Goodfellas.
Sgt. Tony Willis of the Knoxville Police Department told a local television station that officers initially were successful in getting many of the people to move on, but that others continued to fight.
Willis said one of those was Foster, who was seen shoving somebody with police present. Foster told coaches that he was trying to shove teammates away from each other to keep the fight from escalating.
Right after Foster was arrested, Willis said another altercation broke out involving Holbert and Wardlow. All three players are 20, and Willis said it wasn't discovered until after they were arrested that they were football players.
Willis said the reason the trio were arrested was because they persisted in fighting after police arrived on the scene and ordered everybody to disperse.""

C. Apparently you don't have much experience with the Hendersonville and/or Gallatin PD.

D. I have zero doubts that they do, but as the article said, it was those who persisted that obviously were the ones arrested. Plenty of people fighting, few arrested. They didn't know until after they were arrested that they were football players, so that's how the window as well.

Did the Vols lose big in the SEC Championship? The rest isn't worth it.

Then why did you feel the need to brand that as a reason? LOL! I only mentioned the SECCG as a means to have common ground because they did give him carries, but it didn't matter. Unlike those blowout losses YOU mentioned.

I have experience with both. Gallatin/Hendersonville PD aren't as bad as KPD

In the South, racial issues with the Police and black perpetrators is an issue whether you want to be naive about it or not. It never said Foster did anything to the Police. Police from Middle Tennessee are completely irrelevant to the issue. As for those that persisted it clearly states that the guys that kept going did so after Arian was removed.

You're right. Arian is the reason we lost that game. I mean, what with Erik Ainge being so effective through the air, Foster should have been gashing that All American front seven.

if it takes Foster going to the NFL to see creer play than he needs to go. He will get out ran by the OL .

Wanting a senior RB to leave just so you can see a sophomore RB play is ridiculous. Creer is going to be good don't get me wrong but you can't ask someone to leave that has given his heart and soul to the team just to see someone play who isn't proven.

I think a 100 NFL scouts who will disagree with you. That's one of the first things they measure when evaluating a player for the NFL. Remember what happened to Clarrett last year after his 40 time?
On the flip side, look at Chris Henry. The guy was a nobody in college, yet he runs a blazing 40 time, works out well and becomes a 2nd round pick. I agree, speed is near the top of the wish list for scouts.

Arian will break UT's all-time rushing record if he stays this season. Not sure how you don't say he isn't a GREAT running back.

when thinking of great ut running backs, in all honesty do you think of foster? i appreciate him for what he's done for ut but at the moment he is nowhere near the talent of jamal lewis, travis henry, travis stephens, chuck webb, etc. hopefully he can do something next season that makes me think otherwise.
