I only played the NFS demo so i cant compare...Forza 3 has two discs worth of content and a pretty deep career mode though..im on season 3 now..

Too early for a sequel, hopefully Microsoft doesn't start milking this series. I'll more than likely be picking it up because I love the series.

edit: Forgot about the Kinect trailer at E3. That definitely answers alot of questions. I'll begin preparing myself for the disappointment now.

How would you compare Forza 3 with Need For Speed:Shift?

I would say that Forza 3 is better than Shift in the gameplay, customization areas. The graphics are pretty much the same. I don't like the tuning part of Shift as much as I like Forza's and I think Forza's season play, storefront, and customization are way better. If you play Forza, shift is just redundant IMO

It was their foray into the sim world of racing. Not bad, but not on the same level as Forza.

Shift was pretty damn arcadey, pretty pitiful attempt if that's the case. Shift's still a solid game with a nice cockpit view.

I'm a little skeptical about the whole Kinect thing. Hopefully it won't take too much away from the sim racing aspect.

I saw a video somewhere where you could drive the cars using your hands with the Kinect similar to the Kinect racing game. That would be fun for multiplayer and such, but hopefully that won't be the only option.

I do like being able to dissect the car with Kinect, but hopefully they will let you do that with a controller also.

Hopefully Forza 4 is as simulation-based as Forza 2. I thought Forza 3 was more of a NFS/Gran Turismo wanna-be. Either way, I'm looking forward to 4.

It all depends on how many/what assists you have on. Forza 3 out of the box was pretty arcadey, one of the really cool aspects of the game. Forza Motorsport 3 is pretty damn close to Gran Turismo 5, they've done some serious work in a very short period of time.

Agreed, If its too arcady for you, go to the options and take off the assists like braking and the brake lines. Learn to use those numbered signs before turns

The only assist I use is the braking line. I just can never get the sense of depth in racing games for braking.

have you tried setting your braking pressure around 130 and feathering the brake through the turn? if you hit it right you can power out as you cross the apex. Thats what the signs with the numbers are for. start braking at 4-2, hit the apex, power out

I can do that with tracks I'm very familiar with like Road Atlanta and Sebring (the tracks I test all my cars on). But with others, I just can't seem to get a grasp on it. It's just the depth.
