Any years of eligibility left?
haha he actually may. If i remember correctly he quit playing after his junior season because he wasnt playing much and had already graduated and ran through the T with the seniors but since he is now a pro athlete in MMA i doubt he could. I know you were joking but he actually might

Being a "Pro" MMA fighter is becoming the new "Pro Poker Player"..

Joke if you ask me. I saw a "Pro" MMA fighter get his ass kicked at a Frat Party 3 weeks ago, buy a farmboy "Nobody". This was the type of the guy who did the typical "Do you konw who I am, I train MMA"

I always find it amusing when I see guys wear Tapout gear or say their MMA fighters. Most have know idea what it really takes to make it in the sport.

You can play pro sports and then play in college as long as it's not the same sport. Ex: you play pro baseball till you're 26 and then you give it up for college basketball/football when you realize you'll never make it to the major leagues.

"Pro" is a misleading term---there are plenty of people making a living at something they're not very good at.

Well, "pro" and "poker player" are actually a step above the title "consultant" or "manager"...

my best friend fights MMA for money but he still doesn't call himself "pro".

that card may look bad, but they need a good showing there because MMA just got approved in the state and they need good attendances so that the state can get better fights.

They're legal as of July 1, 2008.

i actually went to one of the first legal MMA fights in the state back in summer. its good to see that local gyms can stop fighting in small convention centers in KY and get it poppin in TBA and other larger venues.

Rumor is that the UFC will be having an event in Nashville in April. Probably a FightNight to be shown on Spike.

No, but I'd say a Tennessee UFC event is in the works. Prolly in the Sommet Center in Nashville. Maybe UFC 100?

I'd travel for it.

I'd say the best possibility would be for an event in Memphis with Rampage as a headliner. The UFC seems to like having events in their star's hometowns. I have a buddy who has been in multiple KOC events and has trained with Militich and lots of other camps. He and some other buddies run an MMA website and promote a lot. It is much more likely for TN to get an Affliction event or another small event before attracting the UFC.
