Chris Donald has quit the football team at UTC due to ongoing wrist problems.

Man, if I've ever seen the definition of a bust... this would be it.

He is a good guy. Went to high school with him. It was probably a tough decision for him he was always a competitor. Hope he finds something he loves.

It's always funny to read people's posts when it comes to defining someone as a bust or not... For instance, Chris Donald is a bust b/c he was a 5 star, and there is no way Rivals could have miscalculated his talents. But then when we sign a group of 2 star players, we say they are under the radar and Rivals has completely miscalculated their talents....

Either way, as far as being a part of society and a community, I'll take a hard-working, honest bust over an Albert Haynesworth any day of the week.

Pay particular attention to the numbers of posts where VolsDeep has posted factual/useful information regarding anything at all. This thread was fact-based. VolsDeep apparently follows my Volnation career like some sort of rabid fan... and I'm appreciative. But up until a few minutes ago I had no idea who he was. :hi:

So what are you saying? You'd take Chris Donald's UT career over Haynesworth's? Or were you randomly talking about hard-working, honest Daniel Brooks?

Hate to hear this about Chris. I think alot of the "experts" fell in love with his numbers and size coming out of high school, but lost the "it" factor somewhere between his jr and sr year, for whatever reason. Position change, coaching change; he just got lost at UT. I thought he played decently at UTC last year. Hope the best for him in his future endeavors.

He didn't live up to a ranking and star system that someone else placed on him but he's the bigger failure? Help me understand.

He wasn't a bust. The term bust places some responsibility on the athlete. He didn't fill the shoes that never fit in the first place.

I agree with this...I saw Chris play numerous times...I saw him in a scrimmage game against my son...While he was an impressive athlete, I never thought he was a 5* type player based on what I had witnessed with my own eyes...BTW, I wish that I could have had the opportunity to play for the team I love...I'd give damn near anything to have run through that "T" on football Saturday in Neyland Stadium...Good Luck to Chris in whatever he does...Hope he goes on and gets his degree...

Yeah he had the tools so equal blame goes to evaluaters, developers and himself for not making it happen.
