He is playing in the Futures Game today on ESPN2 in St.Louis, here is a quote from Keith Law on ESPN about him.

Strong may understate Kelly's success this year, as he finished the spring pitching in high Class A at age 19 without finding any challenge from minor league hitters. He's on a low-innings cap for 2009, so the Futures Game represents his swan song for the year.

I hated to see UT lose this kid last year but if he went anywhere I was glad to see him go to the Sox.

what i hate about most red sox fans is that the majority that dont live in boston are nothing more than bandwagon fans. really boston and florida gator fans have a lot in common. go cards by the way!

Apparently, the Sox have a dilemma with Casey Kelly.

It's true that he's done pitching for the year - the brass in Boston project him as a future No. 1 or 2 starter-type. But they think he could easily be the shortstop of the future. So the front office has toyed with the idea of him playing both positions next year - a SS that pitches every 5th day.

They believe he is truly that talented. Would have loved him as QB, but it sounds like baseball was his calling.
