He’s obviously a baseball guy. I loved Delmonico, but I don’t recall him being a “baseball guy” as much as a program administrator. There was probably a time with Coach Delmonico, but I can’t put my finger on it. In Coach TV, we have an honest to goodness baseball guy that would lace them up right now if they’d let him. I love watching it on the broadcasts, and I can only imagine how much these kids love playing for him. And, in a world where real inspiration is fleeting or even non-existent, I’ll take the guy that is passionate and even sappy about this game all day long. That’s what kids sign up for. To be inspired by and learn how to derive joy from this game is a rare gift. The game knows! Here’s to many more seasons with CTV!
