Former Bama player says Saban, Pruitt were put on Earth to coach football

Ray Perkin's got a call from the owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he took the job. Fans were not in an uproar based of his accomplishments. Bama fans understood who he was replacing and to be the absolute best at something carries its own reality.

Doesn't mean that Pruitt won't get a call from momma if he is successful as a head coach. But no one expects him to be the next Nick Saban.

I'm not quite sure you are correct on this...

If in Saban's first year away, regardless of who is coaching Bama, they have a two or three loss season, fans will riot because of the stacked roster so many have mentioned. If, for instance, you lose to say LSU and Barn, fans will be seething over the fact so much talent was "squandered." If you lump in a TSIO loss, Bammers will likely burn down the joint.

I should have been more specific. Even though we don't expect Pruitt to be better than Saban, we most certainly expect him to outperform what he did in Knoxville.

That's not being unfair. We expected the same from coach Bryant and coach Saban.
