I travel a decent bit and like to find some of the best steakhouses.

My clear favorite today is in Hat's neck of the woods and it's

New York Prime in Boca Raton. Barrell cut filet is fork edible. Hostesses are even better.

Where's the best steakhouse?

I have never been to this place, but a bunch of my co-workers have and they say that Ditka's in Chicago is awesome.

I recently had a mail order meal from Hat's area, Joe's Stone Crab. I was skeptical but it turned out to be quite delicious. Frankly, I am unaware of any other way to get stone crab claws in Nashville. Sorry that's not steak. I am interested in Hat's reply because I am going to try and coordinate my annual pilgrimage to Naples with the Miami tour date(s) for The Police.

Ditka's is more hype than anything, but the New York Prime BR is even worth the trip to Miami. Make's Ruth's Chris have a little bit of a Bonanza feel.

My brother in law wants to buy my wife and me a gift certificate to our favorite steak place. He made it sound like he was going to buy “upper end” My thoughts were: (all in the DFW area)

Ruth Chris

Del Friscos

Texas de Brazil

Suggestions would be appreciated

Then go to the NY Prime.

Prime 112 is the best steakhouse in Miami. Jackson's in Ft. Lauderdale is top notch as well.

Del Friscos works, but for the same money, you could eat at Joe T Garcias for about a month and be equally satisfied.

Thanks. :hi:
I am generally in favor of the Brazilian style steakhouses. However, they seem to be very location specific. Most are good, but the bad are flat awful. That's why I didn't recommend Texas de Brazil. I haven't eaten at the DFW location.

I really like the Brazilian style steakhouses, too. (In addition to their waxes) In doing some research, I found this one which is approximately 5 minutes from my house. Boi Na Braza Site Menu May have to give it a whirl sometime.

I have actually eaten at Texas de Brazil a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Del Friscos would be a new experience for me, so that is the one that I am inclined to go with.

Thought Jackson's was good and haven't been to 112, though it's been recommended a lot.

Have you been to the NY Prime in Boca?

If you're ever in Phoenix try Durant's, right in the middle of downtown. The back entrance will remind you of Goodfellas. Unbelievable steaks and the scenery on Friday night happy hour can't be beat.

I have eaten at the New York Prime in Myrtle Beach SC and it is excellent, about a dozen visits and have not been disappointed yet.

Speaking of steaks, dinner tomorrow will find me at Flemming's in Nashville. I usually prefer the Palm or the Stockyard, but Flemming's will do; the steaks are on par with the others, and their creamed spinach is really, really good, and I don't even really like creamed spinach.

The bartender's there provide a bit of the aforementioned "scenery" as well.
