"This is the silliest s--- I’ve ever seen in my life,” Pruitt said during the phone conversation. “I’ve got it. I understand. I’ve worked at four places, and I ain’t ever had no crap like this except for here.”

Im not advocating for Banks just making a point. Why are we killing ourselves. What this administration just did is worse than anything I've ever seen in my 45 yrs of watching college football. They should be fired for how they have handled this firing. 👀😑

I know Pruitt is not a good head coach. But how they handled his ouster. I wish they paid the buyout and had a coach in waiting. I know, I don't have millions.
We may not play with the big boys but dang sure play against them. They are all cheating. That being said I'm starting to wonder if we should have the soccer model and be demoted. Maybe losing money and the prestige of being in the SEC would hit harder than just fans not showing up. TV money!!!
Maybe the administration would be motivated to get it right.

I'm not sure how this will turnout but this clusterf... is not going to stick to Pruitt for longer than 2-3 yrs. It will be with us longer. And we haven't hit rock bottom.

I can't even guess at head coaches or next steps because I'm truly stunned at the ineptitude at the top.

Do you think we would have been better paying him to leave?
Or even giving him another year?

This stuff was reported in November. He still had a chance to salvage the season at that point.
Dont forget about those qualifiers.

This is the right road....so far.
But Steele should have never been brought on board. Or, dont force the next coach to take anybody they dont want including steele.

I voted current out of the presented options but it's not how I'd have handled it. He should have been canned in November. You can come after his buyout if he causes the school to get placed on sanctions afterwards.

I can agree with this point. Especially going after the buyout based on sanctions.

Fire him in December and have the next coach ready to be announced shortly after. Then you have time to recruit your current players and cast vision to your recruits on the future.

The Admin bunch doesn't really care about wins or losses. They care about the bottom dollar. They run our program like a Walmart Store. They saw a chance to save 12 million dollars and never once considered the repercussions. We need leadership that will let the AD do his job and we need an AD who will let the HC run the football team without meddling.

I would have forced Fulmer’s resignation/retirement; hired the best athletic director I could find. Pruitt would have likely been back for 2021.

For darn sure, I wouldn’t have gone on national tv and admitted guilt to major infractions. That press conference was some of the dumbest s*** I’ve ever seen from an administrator.

Unfortunately, there is not going to be anything left to coach, players are bailing like rats on a sinking ship
