How far is it from the airport area to the stadium?

Anywhere east of town off I40- Airport, Mt Juliet, Briley Parkway exit, etc. is safe and a good option coming from Knoxville.
Downtown is more pricey but will be the most fun- friends stayed at Hotel Indigo for the Vandy game and walked to the Titans game on Sunday and said it was a great deal. Do not stay on the stadium side of the river. Stay on the west side and walk across the bridges to LP field. There's a Hampton Inn right at the base of the pedestrian bridge in a great spot, just to mention one option.
Anything in the Vandy/West End area is great with lots of restaurants close by.
A little further out 65 south is Brentwood/Cool Springs/Franklin- all safe and lots of restaurant and hotel options.
There are lots of hotels in the Trinity Lane area but do NOT stay there.
It's going to be a Big Orange invasion and a huge boost to of our great city's recovery from the devastation of the flood- we can't wait for you all to get here! Go Vols!

The Hotel Preston has a 3rd party shuttle service they use that is only $5 per person with more then 4 people to go down town.

Just FYI Vol Fans... Already, at my hotel, the Country Inn & Suites Nashville Airport East, we are seeing a major influx in room reservations for the Bowl! The busier and closer it gets to the bowl, the higher prices will go! Whether you stay at my hotel or any other, I urge all of you to book early and avoid price increases.

Areas I suggest to stay:
#1 Airport - Best value, hands down, because there is an abundance of quality airport hotels, like the Preston and my Country Inn Airport East, and not as much demand as the pricey downtown hotels. Because of its central location, this is the place to stay if you do not mind driving a few miles to the Bowl and other local attractions. Darfons and Ellendales are excellent restaurants in the area and there is a great hole-in-the-wall deli called Phat Bites that you should visit. Again, Preston and my hotel, both will have shuttles available to the bowl and downtown so keep that in mind. To book at the Country Inn Airport East please visit Nashville Hotels: Country Inn & Suites Hotels In Nashville: Nashville Hotel or call us at 615-277-1099.

#2 Opryland - This area is only about 6 miles from downtown and there are a ton of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment in the Opryland area. Do not stay at Opryland Hotel because it is grossly over-priced, but I do urge you to visit the beautiful garden attriums in the hotel, the Christmas lights display, and the Grand Ole Opry. Prices here start around $90. (PLEASE NOTE: OPRY MILLS IS STILL CLOSED DUE TO THE FLOOD)

#3 West End/Vanderbilt Area - Again, pricey, but not as bad as downtown. It also has a great variety of restaurants and is only about a mile from downtown. This area is safer and a bit more upscale than proper downtown. Prices should start around $150.

#4 Downtown - Quite simply, only stay here if you can afford $200+ per night. Closest location to all the Honky Tonk bars and the Bowl, itself.

#5 Mt. Juliet - Approximately 15 miles East of downtown, but has a lot of new hotels, brand new shopping center, and a ton of restaurants. The Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn here are beautiful hotels! Look to pay $65-$100 in this area.

#6 Brentwood/Cool Springs - It is about 12-15 miles from downtown, but a safe and beautiful area. Area is a bit pricey, but offers the best mall in Nashville, Cool Springs Galleria, and plenty of restaurants. Prices start at approximately $90/night.

AREAS I DO NOT RECOMMEND: Stadium Side of the River, Trinity Ln, Murfreesboro Rd, Dickerson Pk, Antioch/Hickory Hollow, Gallatin/Rivergate.

I hope this helps all of you! Enjoy your visit to the beautiful Music City and GO VOLS!!!!

Pay the extra money and stay downtown and walk to the game is what I'd suggest.
