Title to thread should read wanting to be a doctor and wanting to go to UT. She has already been contacted by them based on her grades. You talk about one happy father if she decides to go there although I will be happy were ever she chooses to get her education

It's amazing the amount of people who go into medicine who do so because of being personally affected by some thing in their life medically, or to someone close to them.

Congrats, and I'm sure there isn't a day that goes by that you don't revert back to those days and just take a deep breath realizing how happy you are that she made it and is healthy and happy and has her life in front of her, and I'm sure deep down she is aware of her circumstance and it will only help her in her desire to help others.

You should be a proud papa!! Now tell her not to fall in love before she hits her residency years, boys ain't nothing but trouble.

Count me in. I had never considered it until my Grandmom's battle with and victory over cancer.

Awesome to hear, OP. I know you are both proud and eternally grateful.

I'm not familiar with your story, but this is an accomplishment even without overcoming anything. Congrats to her and your family. Good luck to her.
