For those who don't understand the playoffs selection...

The contenders remaining schedule of tough teams and my prediction of results:
Vanderbilt---Missouri, Tenn. Texas----- 1/2
Texas--- Ms. State. Vanderbilt, Ga. Tx AM---2/2
Ole Miss.--- Okla. Fl. @Ms. State-- 2/1
Missouri-- Vanderbilt, Tx AM , Ms. State, Okla. 2/2
LSU--- Tx Am , Alabama, Okla. 1/2
Okla.--- Alabama, Tenn. Missouri, LSU---2/2
Ga.--- Florida, Texas--- 2/0
Alabama will win out
Now if we win out and the above happens, where are we?
I would not trust anything that has SEC Refs involved. No way to predict w/l records when one bad call can go against you. Second, is the injuries that may or may not occur.
We know what we got and best take it game by game. One bad call in any game can change the complexion of this scenario. Paper work but reality may or may not happen.
Until the SEC holds refs accountable for their actions then so be it.

No wishing anybody to get hurt but as you said, GT is overly reliant on King and he runs like a FB - takes a lot of hits. They should be 11-0 going into the Georgia game…how will this committee handle GT if they lose King for the season against Georgia? They’d be 11-1 and playing in the CG game…but without King they aren’t a top 25 team IMO
You make an interesting point. I think GT can win most of its remaining games without King (and I’d push back on the idea that GT is totally dependent on him), but King is a remarkable players and the committee screwed FSU because of a hurt QB.

Well, in fairness to the Committee, that year was the first time since the 4 team “playoff” inception that we had the perfect storm of having 5 deserving conference champions for four spots…I still think Georgia was probably the best team in the country that year…

Would you like 5-1 odds for 3 ACC teams making it? Because if you are saying that's "likely", it would seem like a good deal. There is not a 5% chance of this happening.
The ACC could finish with 3 teams at 11-1 NOT in their CG…GT at 11-1 and SMU at 10-2 could be undefeated in conference play and in the CG with Miami, Virginia and Louisville all sitting at 11-1. We’ll see how things look when the first committee rankings come out 11/4. Virginia and Miami are both ahead of us in the current polls - if they win out I’m not sure we overtake them…of course the only poll that matters is the committee poll.
