Don't count on it. Sure, a win Saturday night helps, but we still likely lose to Bama, and Socar. That puts us at 4-4 going into November, and Mizzou and Vandy will not be gimmes. Hell, after last year, I won't count out UK either. Troy has been pesky to other BCS teams in recent years as well.

Basically, a W Saturday gets him on the right track to keeping his job, but by no means is he outta the woods.

As I've said many times...I think they will beat the highly over ranked MSU team but if he gets blown out against Alabama and USClite then the hounds of hell will be barking.

UT should beat the hell out of Miss State. There are only 2 good teams left on our schedule. The rest should be wins.

LMFAO. I've been to more VOL sporting events than you could count. Fairweather, I will never be.

But if it makes you feel better to say that, then by all means, go ahead. Just don't hate when the majority of my op comes to fruition.

If we beat MSU and go on to finish the season with 4 straight wins, it really doesn't matter what happens with Bama and USC; Dooley's job will be safe. Sadly, that's not a little "if," as we have the talent but lack the consistency, but it's certainly doable.

A month of wins followed by a successful bowl game to end the season and nobody will even remember what happened when Florida came to town.

I'm still a Dooley supporter simply because he's still the head coach. But the op is on to something. Although beating a ranked team is the first step, being able to beat our rivals and those within or own division are crucial.
