From another thread, there have been assurances that Tennessee has a new coach, or at least a verbal-type agreement in place. There have been clues to this person's identity, however I am still clueless. I guess my reasoning or deductive skills are not up to par with the rest of you so here is my request; HELP! :)

All I am asking for at this point is a "yes" or a "no" answer.

1. Is this person's name Gruden, Davis, Cowher, Kelly, Kiffin, or Leach?

That's it.

Oh and GO VOLS!!!

Having seen your post in the UT plane thread.
I think it will be big.
I thing the deal was in place before cpf was retired.
Cowher or Gruden take your pick.
They would not have done the deed without the certainty of the who.

That being said.

You would be thinking incorrectly then.

I understand the pitfalls of my statement.
But what is your basis for disagreeing with my statement.

If I am wrong,I grieve!
Grief can take care of it's self, but to get the full value of joy,you must have somebody to divide it with.

I would like to add a new set of names:

1. Is this person's name Gruden, Davis, Cowher, Kelly, Kiffin, or Leach?

My question: Is the font of the new coach smaller than the rest of the fonts? Yes or no?

No need to be specific. Just generic Yes or no answers :)

Gruden was the #1 guy and Hamilton blew it. The new coach was believed to be a long shot but the search firm sent out a feeler, he was interested, couple days later he is the new coach.

From what I have gathered this statement is true:

The decision to pull the trigger with Fulmer was Mike Hamilton's decision. Of course the higher ups with the exception of one supported the move. I'm also quite positive that there were pre-existing performance goals that Fulmer had to meet this season to keep his job, and that all parties were aware of those goals. From everything that I've read the boosters gave Hamilton one singular command. Fix it now!

So the more I read the more I think the timing of the decision was left up to Mike Hamilton.

It would be hard to imagine making this announcement when he did without a fall back plan. The fall back plan is likely an unemployed coach....like LK.

There probably was an obligatory type offer to Gruden and Davis to prove to fans and boosters that he is serious about the hire and the reclamation project. As much as I would love to have either, I simply don't think the timing is right for such a hire. Gruden is likely playoff bound, and Davis is on track to compete with Miami over BCS bids for the foreseeable future.

If you look at Leach, Kelly, Brewster etc. they are at a competitive disadvantage for one reason. Every decision they make on every play can be judged by fans and prospective employers right now. Many have already written Kelly off after UC's performance last night. TT will have to play one hell of a game to beat OK in Norman.

Kiffin sits in the catbird seat because of his reputation among coaches, the widespread idea that Al Davis is crazy, his success at USC, and the actual unknown. He doesn't have to prove his worth every Saturday.

I really believe that he expressed interest, and was the fall back all along. If not, he would already be coaching somewhere else. Just MO.

I agree with most of this but concerning Gruden, I too thought he was a 1-100 long shot from the get-go. Now, after reading how at one time the "Glacier (sp) Family" owners of the Bucs, well put it this way, his job wasn't all that secure in Tampa a few years back. That's the only reason I thought maybe it's not a far a stretch. Maybe instead of 1-100 25-100, not much but something.

Like most people I thought we had a shot at Gruden mostly because of the family ties. Fact is if you are an NFL coach your family is generally second in line. It is a 16 hour 365 day job.

If there was no shot at all Hamilton wouldn't have bothered. Otherwise he'd be chasing Bob Stoops and Pete Carroll as well.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - CBSSports.com Message Boards

I see your point.Take it for what it's worth but here's the Buc's Message Board.

I understand your point. I simply don't know anything about Gruden's relationship with the Glazers....only what I hear here and there.

I think there is definitely some discontent, but I don't know if it is from fans or from team management.

I will say this, the last time I saw Gruden on the sidelines he had put on a few pounds. He is definitely feeling the NFL pressure. I'd love to have him.

In general, I agree with all that you're posting Lex.

To this point, Hamilton has executed this optimally.
