I highly recommend thinking twice (maybe three times) about going to anything on E Carson St (aka the southside) after dark. There has been a lot gun violence over the past months so much so that the mayor has ordered more police presence. Just looking out for any of you coming in from out of town who may not know the area. Pretty much anywhere else, north shore (where Heinz Field and the casino are), water front, downtown, strip district are good places to visit

I remember going there during my college years. Completely different now. Shame.

Went to the UCF-Pitt game in 2019 and stayed at the Springhill Suites Northshore, within an easy walk to Heinz Field. Very convenient, comfortable and possibly the closest hotel to the stadium.

Amazing steakhouse right next to PNC Park. Hyde Park. Pricey but worth it.

Also...Pirates host St. Louis the night before. Beautiful ballpark and free T shirt Friday.
