He not only saved Fulmer's job but he helped him get an extension as well. Would this be fair to say?

Sounds about right. If he stays they will have to pay him more and that'd ruffle too many feathers in the UTK assistant coaches' union.

In addition, it gets the rest of the staff a free pass for next year based on the "implementing a new offense" excuse.

I would agree with your statement. Although, I could swear I heard a quote from Cutcliffe when he returned to Tenn that he was finished with seeking HFC positions and didnt need the headaches and stress that came with it due to his medical conditions.

However, I don't see being HFC at Dook as a stressful job. Football is maybe the 5th or 6th most important sport at that school.

Butch Davis's D against Cut's O, every year, as a finale, should make for some very entertaining games.

i think i remember hearing that, also.

wonder if he would have been hired knowing that he was going to bolt given the opportunity?

I have no idea where you heard that info. Cut has said all along he would like to be a head coach again. Everyone knew that, except evidently you two.

Spot on, now does CPF take this and run, knowing what a first rate OC can do with out the heavy hand. Or does he regress back to the comfortable, the safe. It really has gotten much more interesting down time, for UT football, and the VN forum. Personally, I am happy for Cut, but now CPF has to step up and make the biggest decision of his career. This team has a lot of talent on the O-side of the ball. Get your popcorn ready.....:hi:

it was tongue in cheek.. just didn't read that way tm3.

But Hamilton and Fulmer both knew Cut wanted to be an HC somewhere again one day.
