My friend who works in the facilities department showed me picture of the jersey template that Nike has presented UT with and the final decision will come at the beginning of fall practice...

It is very very basic. It is basically Penn State except with orange and a Power T on the helmet with a white facemask. No stripes on the pants and no outlines on the numbers. The number font is a little edgy and there is a power T logo on the chest and the state logo will remain on the back above the names. Orange nike logo on the pants hip.

He also told me there will more than likely not be an all gray alternate but there are talks of an all orange alt with gray numbers and gray "Vols" running down the pants..

Just passing along some interesting things to my fellow vols :good!:

Thanks for the info. If true I prefer a basic traditional look but that is just my opinion. Although I did like the stripes on the pants.

I don't believe they wait until the beginning of fall practice. Things are done for this season as far as merch goes. The only thing to wait on is the release imo.

He told me that there have been "several" different templates that have been rejected, and that this is the one that he thinks will stick because of the simplicity. He also told me last year during basketball season and football season adidas sent us game specific alternate uniforms mid season that were never worn. So I don't think there has to be a lot of time for jerseys to develop.

The uniforms were ordered months ago.

Zero decisions will be made before fall practice.

100% false jerseys are custom tailored to every player and without all the players being on campus that has not happened yet. The only Nike jerseys that have been received are practice jerseys and a very basic not official jersey for photos and videos etc...

He can tell you whatever he wants Hank. They aren't rolling out the new Nike merchandise without jerseys.

The team is already floating pictures of uniform pieces in the 119 boxes. Doubt that would happen if they haven't even chosen a template.

Other than the alternate (which sounds terrible), the rest sounds perfect if true.

According to DP "Tennessee" in the new font will be across the chest on every uniform.

OP didnt mention a stripe on the helmet -- would look like crap if it doesnt have one.

You're correct that the measurements haven't been made but the design is set. All that's left is the "making" of the unis.
