I posted a thread yesterday that you will see on the front page about a boy that at the age of 13 who was diagnosed with cancer. At several times in his life he has been given just months to live but he has fought it for 7 years. He was told two days ago that he only had 1 week to live as his o2 levels were low, and his body was quitting on him.

He is a diehard Vol fan. Just yesterday a Titan, Donnie Nickey, called him and talked to him. He hasn't stopped smiling. Is there any way you can pass this onto Jason and his teammates. He had a very rough night last night, and I just want to make his last moments special!

Is there any way you can contact me at brandon.clenney@gmail.com

Thank you and have a great day!

Hope the little man can watch the game Saturday. Now this make me want to go to the game and make it an atmosphere the little guy can remember even though he'll watch from TV.

For those who didn't see my thread yesterday:

Some of you from West TN may know the story of Jay Rogers. He is a die-hard Vols fan and Peyton Manning fan.

In 2005, Jay (a teenager) was diagnosed with a tumor in his chest cavity. At several times through his battle, he was given just a few months to live; however, Jay always bounced back and was strong through it all. Sadly, this is what was posted from his family last night:

"It is with a very heavy heart that I update tonight. After a couple of trying weeks and weekend Jay's Journey nears the end. His health is failing fast. We headed to St. Jude early this morning with Jay. He awoke with a high fever and labored breathing. The culprit, a large mass of infection in one of his lungs. After quick reaction from the St. Jude team he rallied back, and began feeling some better. But it was determined after all the tests were in that his body had began to shut down. Though his spirit does not want to quite fighting, his body does. After nearly 7 years of battling cancer his body can do no more. Jay was stabilized and transported by ambulance home. It is his wish to end his earthly journey at home. He never was one to want to go in the hospital. As in true Jay style he is more worried about us, his family and friends than he is himself. He reassures us that it will be ok."

The family and friends of Jay have set up a FB page called Jay's Warriors where they are wanting 5000+ likes. He exceeded that this morning. If you do not mind, I would love for each and every Vol fan to like this page and show their support. On the page is a picture of Jay today as he was hit with this devasting news. As you can see, he still is proudly wearing that UT hat.

This is the kind of stuff that this website should be more about. Helping people in the Volnation and doing good for people in the Volnation area. Get that kid some Tennessee players to visit him. and make him smile even bigger.

Just goes to show you how unimportant these games are in the broad scope of life. I pray that the family will find peace in the coming weeks. I hope the team gives their all and wins this game for Jay. What a precious gift that would be. Jay you have shown the true meaning of grit and determination. God bless.

Hi,

i haven't logged in on a while, and Baby AVI just texted me and told me to read this thread. My heart goes out to the family and I most definitely will do ANYTHING to make this as special as I can.

You may know that my grandmother got her wings earlier this month after her battle with cancer, and I know this will be touching to Jason also because he never had the opportunity to know his father who passed of Sarcoma when he was only 6 weeks old.

I will contact you immediately following this post.

Here's my email also: VFLTERRY@gmail.com
