Don't get me wrong - I have enjoyed Tennessee football even in the bad years, but this season has provided the most entertaining six games I can ever remember to start a season. 1998 was magical. The Syracuse and Florida games that year were incredible, but nearly every game we have played thus far in 2016 has been a thriller. I am in no way comparing the product on the field this year with 1998. That team was historic. This team, however, has been so much fun to watch. They have been infuriating at times both offensively and defensively, but at times this team has been truly special. This team still has a long way to go, but they are 5-1 and just refuse to quit. I know we have won games that could have easily been losses, and we lost a game yesterday that could have been a victory. With so much room for improvement we are still 5-1. The first half of the season is over. I hope to enjoy a tremendous second half, and I hope that each game we have seen turns out to ultimately be a microcosm of the season as a whole - the 2016 Tennessee Volunteers are a second half team. This Saturday, on the third Saturday in October, the second half begins. Let's have Neyland ready to go, and let's give Alabama hell all day long. Go Vols. Beat Bama. This season will be over before we know it, but I am glad that football is as fun as it's been in a long time for the University of Tennessee.

This team DON'T QUIT. For me that set them apart from teams of the last few years. Love their mind set to work past the end.

Our Vols matter again.
And, not just to us, but to the conference and all of college football. :p

I'm at the beach for fall break and had a Bammer, Rebel and LSU Tiger fan all mention how impressed they are with the Vols.

Glad some people are thoroughly enjoying the exciting season and wild games. This team has created more thrills in half a season than any team in memory. Yeah it is easy to bemoan the turnovers and particulars of each game but these kids are warriors and regardless of their situation - they leave it all on the field. CBS and the media are getting their money's worth with the Vols and who knows the recruiting dividends the excitement from this season will have for many years?

Fix the turnovers and 15 yard penalties and we are 6-0 going into the Bama game. Can't give them an inch! Go Vols!!!

I agree. In a pie in the sky world we would win every game.but the truth is that we are going to lose almost every year. We've lost games over the last 8 years where you could tell that the team was looking to get back on the bus at halftime. They would just quit. Not anymore. These guys have fight. They are pouring their guts out on the field every Saturday.

You like getting pats on the head from other teams fans? I bet you said "thanks" after they paid their compliments. Lol

Well said, ColdTruth. You nailed it. Most competitive and entertaining season thus far since 1998.

Go Vols!
