No matter how old I get or how far away I am from Knoxville, there is always something special about packing my orange, boarding a plane, and heading back to God's country for Florida week. I just did that exact routine a few minutes ago so forgive me if I'm a bit sentimental. There will be lots of bickering on this board for the next few days, but I hope everyone gets a chance to truly appreciate this week and football in general for what it is. It is a chance to get together with old friends and pretend it's 1998 again. A chance to stay out way too late in the Old City on a Friday night and oversleep the College Gameday show. Or maybe that special time spent with your children on the drive down I-40 to finally show them the place that means so much to you.. and then seeing the pure joy on their face as the Vols run thru the T. We're 3-0, it's Florida week, and we're favored by 7.5. Any other concerns are simply minutiae. God Bless America and Go Vols!

Very well put. Its hard not to have a pulse and a decent team and allow yourself to believe you have absolutely no chance to win a football game. I would implore anyone who feels like UT has no chance to look beyond football at their personal life and discover the things that truly matter. We all love UT football but no one should self identify as a Tennessee football fan above all the other important things in their life.

It's ok to be upset if your team loses. But it's unacceptable to bash a player or coach who puts in more hours in a single week sacrificing their health and personal relationships than most people do in 2 weeks.

Pull for your team, take heart, and if we lose support your team. No matter how hard you cheer or how bad you want your team to win there is nothing you can do to help them or change the outcome. I feel like if more people accepted this simple truth they would find a lot more enjoyment in watching football.

Do you think that the Lord could find it in his heart to have Del Rio sit this one out?
Just asking.....

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

But I'm certainly not complaining!

He's out, or at best doubtful. 2-4 weeks is what we're hearing, sprained mcl, which is a miracle after that hit he took. It looked like his knee was totally gone on that play.

Yeah, am much as I hate the gators, you never want to see somebody take a crippling injury.

That reminded me of that hit that Tom Brady took to his plant leg against the Chiefs several years ago. That had torn ligaments written all over it. Glad it was just a sprain instead

We have never been to Neyland, but are excited about coming to this game. Have heard a lot of horror stories and it seems like there is this dark cloud over us in just trying to come enjoy a good football game.

Is there any truth to all the rumors? Can we just enjoy the atmosphere and the game or are we constantly going to have to be dealing with meat heads?

What? Unless you're sitting right in the middle of the student section and Gator Chomping during injuries, you'll be fine and have a good time.

We're competitive and hungry for a big win, but we aren't jerks! Welcome to Big Orange Country and have a good time!

I hope you enjoy yourself and don't run into any idiots. There are some in every fan base so I won't try to tell you they don't exist, but I have attended Fla games before and the Fla fans sitting around me weren't harassed at all that I witnessed.

Prepare to spend four hours with this guy sitting next to your daughter

I love the rivalry more than any other one in football. I was in The Swamp last year and thought ya'll had it. I can take a good ribbing like anybody else and like good hearted jabs - just aint looking for a fight.

Unfortunately for us (we had tickets given to us) we are sitting in section F. Row 55 or better, I think.

We live in Tennessee and some of our best friends are VFL, lol. We are excited to see how things play out this year.

Not that it helps, but we pull for UT when they aren't playing UF lol

Neyland Stadium has some of the best hospitality as far as fan bases go. Again, there's always gonna be idiots at every game. But from my understanding, most away teams speak highly of us
