If we get a delusional Gator much like Cal fans are, this thread should shoot right up there. :birgits_giggle:

We won't beat the gators unless our O-line and D-line improve 100% from last year. Our O-line will have to get a push so that we can rush for positive yards; we can't rely on our passing to keep us in the game this year. Since our LBs will be spread about on assignments, our down 4 linemen will have to be able to prevent Tebow from getting 4 yards a pop.

Like most Tennessee-Florida games, the winner will be the team that wins the rushing battle. I hope we've been making a lot of improvement over this offseason.

RUN, RUN, RUN AND RUN SOME MORE!

Their defense will not be cohesive because of their lack of experience with each other.

Of course, with the way our offensive line has been in recent years I doubt we will break 100.

Defend the up the middle rush especially against Tebow. Is he fast enough to be a threat around the ends or is he primarily an up the middle type qb?

I can't wait until it is football time in Tennessee!!!!

We ran for negative yards last year. So the only way we can go is up.

You would hope... I'm confident we can improve on last year's performance. Whether it will be good enough to help us win in hostile territory will remain to be seen. I just don't have the same confidence that I did years back, when we KNEW we could pound the ball down that gators throat.

Back then we had dominating Olines. And also very good backs.

I don't think Tebow is much of a threat around the outside.

Florida's defense will be very fragile when we play them. They will have had no real tests until the play us. We should be able to run the ball effectively against them, and that will be critical since keeping the ball in Ainges hand will mean we are keeping the Gators talented offense off the field.

I agree on the rushing battle, and there's no way we have as poor of a showing as last year. We had -11 yards rushing and was ahead in the 4th qtr and lost by 1..

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think fragile is the word, maybe "inexperienced." The thing is, those guys will still be talented and have lots of potential. What they will lack is experience playing SEC caliber competition at full speed.

I would hope that we can rush for 150 or so yards and keep their offense off the field. Do that, and limit our mistakes, and we have a good shot at the win. I have a feeling we will have trouble on defense, so it will be critical to give them as few possessions as possible.
