I heard Chris Low, formerly of The Tennessean and now of ESPN, on Nashville sports radio today. His claim was this...Fulmer's teams have traditionally played their best with their backs against the wall (UGA last year) and the UCLA loss actually increases our chances of beating Florida. What do you all think?

Let's get things together in these next 11 days so we can handle UAB, then I'll tell you how I feel about UF. Right now, I'm not so sure.

It makes me laugh how just 25 hours after the result of the UCLA game people can already look towards the UF game and think we have a chance. I want to see Crompton complete 8 passes in a row (after his 8 incs in a ro last night), Foster score a TD in the red zone, Lincoln make a damn FG, and our coaches demonstrate knowledge of their craft before I go proclaiming our "UPSET ABILITY!"

are you kidding,Im mean did you see florida play sat? there like light years beyond us. on offense deffense special teams. coaches, water bottles. i love U.T more than anyone. but i can swallow my pride sometimes. our offense is terrible. we can't even snap the ball more less run a play.

I just want to emphasize that this was Chris Low's opinion, not my own...just wanted to solicit reaction.

I don't ever want to see Foster on the field again. If people can't see that Hardesty is a much better running back with better skills then I give up. I've been saying this about Hardesty for two years and everyone wants to take up for Foster. I think it was very apparant last night who needs to be carrying the ball for us. The difference in speed and aggressiveness between these two backs is not even close. Hardesty knows how to hit a hole and get to the endzone. On a couple of plays last night where Hardesty had big runs, I couldn't help but think that had Foster been in the game, he wouldn't have even gotten past the line of scrimmage because he would have been tackled from behind or at the line of scrimmage. The first offensive touchdown was a good example of why Hardesty needs to be carrying the ball. On that play, the backside linebacker for UCLA blitzed and was untouched on his way to Hardesty but Hardesty turned on the boosters and went through the defense without being touched until he hit paydirt. Foster would have been tackled by the blitzing linebacker and never would have gotten to the line of scrimmage. I know that people have to be seeing this and can't believe this change has taken this long. If you are a slow and I mean very slow running back in the SEC, you sit on the bench or get faster. Dancing around in the backfield does nothing but give the defense time to get you behind the line of scrimmage when you play our schedule. Maybe Fulmer will abandon his UNION like ways and let the underclassman carry the load.

ok, maybe Hardesty DOES get the starting spot. Foster still has to play. Run Hard isn't an every down back, and Foster is good enough to take it as much as Hard doesn't get it. I agree though, I like Hard, but let's be honest with ourselves. As long as we have a coach who honors seniority over talent not much will change. You also have to remember that Foster didn't get another chance after he fumbled the ball.

foster is very rarely tackled behind the line of scrimmage.

Someone just needs to take Foster, tapes his hands to a football, and try to punch it out of his hands "Friday Night Lights" style.

See this is what pisses me off. Yeah, they do great when the pressure is on good ole Phil, but why should he need this kind of motivation (keeping his job) to win. Shouldn't they (coaches and team) always have that fire in them? Yeah, it's wonderful we win these games...but doesn't it make you even more upset seeing the potential of this team not being utilized every week?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Fulmer knew the pressure was on him even before the UCLA game.

i sure hope so, but at this point a) its a couple weeks away and b) i'm still p*ssed about yesterday and don't care about florida at this point. when the week of he florida game is here i'll care then. what sucks is we have to wait a week for them to play another game and see if the can put a complete game together against uab.

yeah but who did they play? Hawaii would let Vandy look like a legit top BCS team.

fulmer traditionally has his team play better when their back is against the wall. However, i believe this trend is ending. We can't defend florida's offense. chavis can't out coach myers and out QB is too inexperienced to play 4 quarters against florida.

That is true, to a certain extent. But I wish Phil would prepare his teams for all games just like he does for those games where his back against the wall. Then his back wouldn't be in that unfortunate position so often. Conversely, we also are supposed to play better when we are under the radar. How did that work out Monday night?

UT will get it together, blow out UAB then upset Florida by 10 in Knoxville. Florida's overrated. Their offense is based on two players: Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin and their defense is not that good.

Ours didn't look too hot in the second half against UCLA, and Florida is much more athletic.

I don't buy into that. Maybe on the D-Line, but our LBs and especially our Secondary is way up there. Considering all 3 OLBs I saw getting significant playing time (McKenzie, Meyers-White and Wilson) are all converted Safeties... and they kept a lot of their atheleticism. They got burned late by UCLA because of a pathetic scheme. If they kept their aggressiveness, and UT could keep them off the field for a bit... I don't think they'd have given up 150 total yards.

Here is an idea....just my two cents...Beat UAB first...I think we have to do that before the Florida game...Wait...If we lose the UAB game then no one will expect us to beat Florida then we might...Good grief...Play them one at a time!

No you misunderstood, I meant Florida is a much more athletic team than UCLA.
