Lets face it, the Gators are the national champs now 2 out of the past 3 years but lets look at it this way. They still don't impress me, yeah they have beaten us year in and year out and pretty much ran the SEC but for goodness sake, I sure would like to see Florida actually play a worthy opponent. To me their two national title games opponents weren't nothing regardless of what they accomplished during the season. Ohio State was a doormat and Oklahoma was pathetic which was a sure shoe in for a couple of Gator National Titles.

One more thing is I am sick and tired of hearing about Tim Tebow and how he is the greatest college quarterback in the history of college football. Not hardly folks, he has yet to break records of past college quarterbacks so all those fans you can get over yourselves. Another thing is Hey Florida play some worthy non conference opponents. I mean this Citadel, Hawaii, and Toledo, and South Carolina State etc. etc. crap is getting old. If you really think you are worthy to be the best, then play against the better non conference opponents and then we'll see how you fare. I don't know, they must be scared or something.

#1 oklahoma was anything but "pathetic". they gave fla a good game.

#2 records dont ensure success. being only a junior and already winning 2 national titles is a huge success in my book. i hate fla with a burning passion, but tebow is a great qb. we are witnessing history being made. don't be ignorant.

that being said, welcome to the board. post often

not to mention they run up the score on those weak non conference opponents. that surely helps the computer rankings.

UF avg. 43 PPG and 7.1 yds per play

UF defense only gave up 12.9 PPG.

They played a BIG12 team that was avg. over 60 PPG their last 5 games.

They basically ran threw the SEC this year, with Ole Miss being the exception which managed to win the Cotton Bowl against TTech.

I'd say they've earned it this year. Time to look towards 2009.

Wow ... I really don't know where to start with the amount of ignorance shown in this post.

I hate Florida as much as anyone but Tebow is a good QB and seems to be a good person. He is a leader on his team something we were surely lacking this past year.

I will agree at least somewhat about Ohio State. Oklahoma was a decent team though. Was the big 12 overrated this year. Sure but that doesnt mean Oklahoma wasnt good.

Records dont mean much. Which would you rather have a QB that can put up good numbers or someone who can get you to win the NC?

As for non conference schedules. We played UCLA, UAB, Northern Ill and Wyoming. That doesnt exactly scream tough non conference schedule.

If you don't think Tim Tebow is a great college quarterback, maybe watching American Idol instead of football would be more suitable for you. The bottom line is UF won the toughest conference and the NC 2 out of 3 years. What more do they have to prove to you? Everyone else had the same opportunity to do what they've done.

Welcome to VN.:welcome3:

Somehow I don't think Florida can hear your argument with two championship rings plugging their collective ears.

Just WHAT are you smoking?

Let's just chalk it up to jealousy and leave it at that.

What's funny is that in 2006 90% of the nation thought UF would get smoked by the Buckeyes. There was also a sizable contingent of fans that thought a OSU-Michigan rematch would be more appropriate. I remember back in 2006 on Inside the NFL they did a segment on the five best teams in the AFC and #5 was Ohio State.

I HATE the gators. I hope their NC don't help sway a few recruits from considerig us. For that reason, I wanted to see them lose. As much as I root for the SEC.

I don't know. If, they beat Texas, USC, or even Utah. But, they did deserve the NC. Any team that can basically shut down a team that scored over 300 pts in their previous 6 games has my vote.

I am sick of hearing about Tebow too. He is a great person. He is a great leader. But, he is surrounded by the best talent in the country. I predict he will fall on his face in the NFL.

And in 2009, the Vols play Western Kentucky, Ohio and Memphis. WOW! Go Vols......GO!

If this is harsh sorry, but you remind me of the black knight in Monty Pithon..(What, my left arms gone but its only a flesh wound). Florida has kicked our a** for what seems forever and the only way we get respectibility back is to hit them in the mouth,,, put a hurt on them.
This is what I am expecting to see each and every week with this coaching staff leading our players.

Wow! Crazy!

We play just as many sorry teams as they do, except we let some of those sorry teams beat us this year.....They deserved every bit of the NC.....I would much rather see an SEC team win the NC than another conference.

Tebow is a great college quarterback, regardless of whether he has talent surrounding him or not, it doesn't matter.

Once we beat them a few times, then we may post this up, but until then we should keep our mouths shut!

This has to be a joke. Ill admit Fla vs. USC may have been a better game, but Oklahoma was a great team. And how can anyone slight off only one lose in the SEC like its nothing. And i hate hearing about Tebow too, but he is going to be a college great (Im not sold on him in NFL). Plus, if im going to have to hear about another teams star player id rather it be a role-model guy like tebow then some gangster IMO

I wish we had been as "unimpressive" as UF was this past season.

Yeah...I wouldn't mind at all to be "unimpressive" to the tune of 49ppg and 2 NC's/SECC's in the last 3 years....real "unimpressive"

I can't even imagine how hard I would laugh if the shoe was on the other foot and we were the ones with all of this success and a UF fan made the same argument this guy just made...ha!
