I got tickets for the Florida football game for my birthday. My brother and I are planning to come up and make a day out of it. I've been to a few TN games before but never did the tailgaiting/vol walk/etc. and was just curious if anyone wanted to get together and show some kids the ropes (hes 21 I'm 22) or just give tips on how to make it more fun/easier for a whole day long thing. Neither of us are UT students, but we are lifelong fans, so we know just enough to get us in trouble really.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

On a similar topic, my dad and I will be attending our first game in Knoxville. We are from Iowa (Go Cyclones) and are huge college football fans. We'll be in town for the Florida game as part of a quest to see every DI team in america and need advice on about everything...

Where do we park? I've heard we should park downtown somewhere and take the shuttle to the stadium?

Where do we tailgate? Bars? Outdoor areas? Point us in the right direction.

What do we need to see to make our experience complete? The Vol Walk, what else?

Where can we find the best selection of some Vol gear for good prices, we need some orange to wear to the game.

Bonus questions... How do we get invited to your tailgate or the Vol Navy? :)

SVT, most folks tailgating are pretty friendly, especially if your wearing orange. We usually hit Cool Beans for some drinks beforehand. They have a website if your into bars.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think we'll have a problem having a good time while we are there, but living 13 hours away, we want to make the most of it while we are there and don't want to come home thinking we missed out on something we should have done.

Try to make it to the Vol Walk. It's amazing.

I'm sure that this goes without saying, but make sure you are in the stadium in time to see the Pride of the Southland marching band form the POWER T!!! It's absolutely an amazing sight and the loudest you will probably ever hear Neyland with it being the Gators and all.
