Florida’s strong running backs

Call me a negavol or old school, whatever, but I don't see this as a blowout. I would love for it to be but prime time game of the day, don't think FL players won't be super pumped and not wanting to get embarrassed. They will have some tricks ready. I think it will be similar to KY/FL. Maybe we pull away in 4th qtr. And yes I still have gator syndrome or whatever you call it. Hope I am cured by Sat night.
You are correct, it's going to be a tough, physical football game and I hope we win...I would love to run up score if we can...

I hope I’m wrong, but I imagine this game will be a nail biter. Florida has the same attitude toward us as we do toward Kentucky.
I don't think this will be a nail-biter. Think TN wins with at least 17 pts more than UF. Just think we have too many guns. The only thing that could stop us is numerous turnovers.

That could be a result of the Pitt game where they ran a tight end thru the middle to cause our LBers to cover then ran a 2nd receiver into that spot that was then wide open. I can't recall the analyst on TV's name but said Pitt had ran that scheme several times and also reversed it using the tight-end as the 2nd receiver. Had a name for it, "clearing out." I'm sure UT has reviewed that particular type play. I think we're getting better using LBers in pass coverage but it's definitely been a weak spot these past 2-3 seasons.
yeah they clear out and fill. Run a receiver or TE through a zone. Linebacker/safety picks up the man coming through and then a receiver runs in behind it. Only way to beat it is corner sticking their man or having someone else fill that zone when it clears.

Florida hasn't impressed me offensively all year
DIdn't say anything about a team effort. Their running game is to be respected. It's really their only offensive weapon and it's absolutely something we have to keep in check. If they break open two or three big plays on the ground, it will force us to start showing more looks on defense and playing back on our heels a little more. I'm not worried about their passing game at all. But, to ignore their potential for a ground game is ignorant.

However their line is nothing like they had in past. Thoughts ?

Florida’s OL is the best they’ve had in recent memory, at least through the first 3 games. Florida is running the ball well, and they haven’t given up a sack. The strength of UF’s team is the RB’s you mentioned and the OL. TE is a weakness, WR’s are nondescript, AR is wildly inconsistent (superstar vs Utah, crap vs KY and USF).

Specific to the OL, one of the better units in America through 3 games:

Florida had better score EVERY time they get the ball, or it will be a long day for them. We know we can score.

I think we should prepare for Antonio Richardson’s backup. This will be AR’s break or make game. I don’t want this to end up like the 2001 SEC Championship.

This game might be a battle of and for the Wrights. Both teams have a RB with the Wright surname, so let's see either will be wonrg, wrognr, wrgon, wrong.

I wouldn’t say their backs are light years ahead of Pitt. Abanikanda might leave a year early for the draft and he’s a 4.5 40 guy. The Etienne kid from Florida is talented but still young and unproven and he’s also clocked a 4.5 in the 40. I think Abanikanda may end up being one of the best backs we see all season next to Gibbs at Bama and Rodriguez at UK.
Etienne is a good back. Gotta give him some extra focus.

As long as we can cover slants across the middle, I am hopeful.

It's easy to have a low sack rate when you throw 4 interceptions and no touchdowns!!!!

Those still count as pass attempts, which are still opportunities to get sacked. I’m not saying Florida’s winning this game, but I am saying I think they have a better OL than Pitt. If they don’t, they’re gonna lose by about 40.

Florida has been practicing two old Spurrier plays. Crossing route with WR and TE in which the second person thru (TE) gets the pass. They have also been using the TE as a decoy on the passing route and throwing to the RB coming thru second.

Florida doesn’t have a TE who scares anyone. They have a decent blocking TE and their other TE is very average. I’d be shocked if you even realize Florida has a TE on the field, other than if one gets a holding penalty or something.

Now the RB’s are a different story. Two appear to be really, really good (Johnson and Etienne) and the other is a veteran of the SEC and has had great games against teams named Alabama and Georgia (Nayquan Wright).

The WR’s are serviceable but not spectacular.
