I am very concerned about speed of their running backs and also backs in passing game. They have gashed us for years on that stupid wheel route and quick slants out of backfield or lined up on line of scrimmage by backs too. Their speed is light years ahead of Pitt. However their line is nothing like they had in past. Thoughts ?

I wouldn’t say their backs are light years ahead of Pitt. Abanikanda might leave a year early for the draft and he’s a 4.5 40 guy. The Etienne kid from Florida is talented but still young and unproven and he’s also clocked a 4.5 in the 40. I think Abanikanda may end up being one of the best backs we see all season next to Gibbs at Bama and Rodriguez at UK.

Pitt has a lot more talent than you realize. Slovis is still the 5th rated NFL QB draft prospect for example compared to Hooker at number 10.

I don't see more talent at most positions for Florida than Pitt..They didn't just win their conference last year with good coaching alone.

Florida has been practicing two old Spurrier plays. Crossing route with WR and TE in which the second person thru (TE) gets the pass. They have also been using the TE as a decoy on the passing route and throwing to the RB coming thru second.

we've faced two "cupcakes" but the first had as strong a running back as we will see this year and Akron showed us a QB that might/could be starting in the SEC next year. We have been TESTED!

That could be a result of the Pitt game where they ran a tight end thru the middle to cause our LBers to cover then ran a 2nd receiver into that spot that was then wide open. I can't recall the analyst on TV's name but said Pitt had ran that scheme several times and also reversed it using the tight-end as the 2nd receiver. Had a name for it, "clearing out." I'm sure UT has reviewed that particular type play. I think we're getting better using LBers in pass coverage but it's definitely been a weak spot these past 2-3 seasons.

i really think they're going to carve us up getting down the field because our defense leaves a lot of open opportunities. it's in the redzone where we're really going to have to keep them in check.

Leads me to my pet peeve ---- our years long not being to cover OVER THE DAM- MIDDLE!!! PLEASE, someone figure this inherited trait, that seems now to be a part of our DNA, out!!!!

Call me a negavol or old school, whatever, but I don't see this as a blowout. I would love for it to be but prime time game of the day, don't think FL players won't be super pumped and not wanting to get embarrassed. They will have some tricks ready. I think it will be similar to KY/FL. Maybe we pull away in 4th qtr. And yes I still have gator syndrome or whatever you call it. Hope I am cured by Sat night.

The QB is their best runner. Contain him and we are OK.

There going to run it at UT's defense, the confidence level with the passing game is low. I just hope we don't get caught "Watching the paint dry"

50 gallon drums are darn good containers.
Static fuzz, hiss, it's just the thing sometimes
50 gallon drum, that's what I'm talking about
Give me a hundred bucks to work on your bike

And maybe I'll cut your hair for you while I'm at it
