Is such a pain in the rear...

The Cedar River in Cedar Rapids, IA is expected to crest 20 feet above flood stage, that's 12 feet above it's previous record. 100 city blocks are now under water and 4000 homes have been evacuated. Here in the Quad Cities, the Mississippi River has risen out of its banks for the second time this year.

I was driving in the storm last night and went down two roads that should be impassible now. Luckily, I have a good truck and I made it through there while others weren't so lucky. I passed two cars that were already stalled. I would have stopped to help, but I risked stalling my own truck because the water was already up to the radiator. High enough so that front license plate actually bent horizontal, rather than vertical.

I hate rain and it's not over yet. Last week a tree branch fell through my neighbor's car window... I laughed, though... because karma is a beeyotch.

I find it interesting that during this ordeal the residents are not crying "Where's my FEMA trailer. or When is the government going to come pack up all my belongings and move me to a new location"
Also, I heard a commercial just now on the radio pleading for help for Myanmar. Does anybody play commercials for help for our disasters?

I saw a photo in yesterday's local paper that showed the bridge that collapsed in Cedar Rapids and there were houses and whatnot jammed up in it. I feel terrible for those people.
