'20 FL WR Malachi Wideman (Tennessee signee)

if he's on scholarship and plays football, he counts against football, no matter what other sports he plays.

So you are saying that if he plays say...lacrosee and football he counts against football? What about cornhole? Connect 4? Thumb wrestling?
Lacrosse, cornhole, and connect 4 yes. It's my understanding if he is brought in on a thumb wrestling scholly then he counts towards their numbers not football.

Nah. It's a good rule and there for a good reason.
You feel its good for someone who has been at a university for two years on a basketball scholarship and he wants to play football also. he should have to switch to a football scholarship?

Yes.

So if Ives Pons wanted to play football, he would count against football scholly? What if football doesnt have room, does that mean he just cant play football?
It means he couldn't be on a BB scholarship if he played football.

Why is this so difficult to understand? It is what it because “ football” schools would football players on basket, baseball, wrestling, or any other sort scholarships and the would I up playing football. It was done by most of the top 20-30 football teams and they had really good football teams and so-so basketball and other no- football sports.

Correct, it is also referred to as the Bear Bryant rule as he used to use swimming (and other minor sports) schollys for football players.
Too Tall Jones was at TSU on a basketball scholarship 🤷‍♂️
