Nelson is familiar with most of Tennessee's coaches as he met all of them last year when they were working at UCF. The soon-to-be senior also happens to be good friends with three-star defensive lineman Venson Sneed, who also calls Central Florida home and recently gave a verbal pledge to the Volunteers.
"I just had a [weightlifting] meet with him. He's a pretty good guy. He said if I go to Tennessee, I'm going to be his roommate," Nelson joked. "But I like Coach [Alex] Golesh, Coach [Glen] Elarbee and Coach [Josh] Heupel. It's a good relationship with them. I like how they all stay together no matter what. The only question I have is after the season, what is the probation going to look like?"
