Not sure if this is true, but i read UT offered more players this cycle than any school. I agree that the offer doesn’t drive action like it once did.

I remember about 10 years ago, Mack Brown was about one entire class abead and the offers were so rare that they got commitments from over 80% of those offered. But even they screwed up by not responding to players blowing up their Sr year.

The difference is that Mack Brown didn’t have to recruit as much out of state. The 2017 Longhorns only had 7 non-Texas players on the roster. The 2017 Volunteers had 71 non-Tennessee players on the roster. It is easier to establish the relationships with schools, coaches, and players when you don’t have to leave the state.
