This is a great thing. Go Canes

Yep. This is why we want Miami and FSU to do well. A) they keep Florida in check from a recruiting standpoint. I don’t think Napier is a guy who is going to out-coach many (certainly not Heupel), so if he doesn’t have a talent advantage, he’s not going to be successful. B) Florida and Miami (and Pitt, for that matter) can keep the ACC teams in Virginia and the Carolinas in check. And because Virginia and the Carolinas are prime recruiting territory for Tennessee, that’s also a good thing.

So yeah, we should be pulling for FSU and Miami to dominate in the ACC and in recruiting the state of Florida.

This was always going to be a challenge with NIL and we are already seeing some failings in College Station. Just throwing money doesn’t solve problems. There’s a balance that has to occur between personal want and team dynamic. Coach Heup seems to know that balance, but admittedly it’s early.

Cristobal is also one of the top 3 recruiters in the nation. He will attempt to do what Georgia has done. Coach decent enough but out talent everyone. In the ACC it should be easier.

This has nothing to do with Mario and everything to do with Ruiz and him throwing around millions. Smart coaches decent enough? Lol. Cristobol isn’t a quarter of the coach Smart is.

Sure would be. Ice to have a guy like Ruiz at TN. I mean you see Miami getting killed by teams like MTSU and Duke yet still landing big time blue chip recruits.

He is garbage...This has nothing to do with "recruiting"..this is all Ruiz just buying kids. Everybody said Pruitt was a great recruiter too...until we found out why, and we know where he learned it, and who he learned it from. Same thing with Kirby and same thing with Mario.

Do we know that? When have we seen Smart coach without a talent advantage? Hell, he inherited a loaded roster his first year and went 8-5 losing to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. So we’ve seen him lose games he should win…but when has he won a game he shouldn’t have?
