I have seen a familiar theme from some people. “This is a good team. We’ve just got to clean up some of these mistakes”

This is off the top of my head. Keep in mind, I’m not a Vols fan here so I am sure many of you will be able to add to this.

Georgia 2015. Fumble on the 1 yard line, Georgia returns it 100 yards for a TD. That's a 14 point swing.

Florida 2016. 1st and goal from the 1 after a fumbled punt (because Florida suffers from the same kind of stupid). No points. Later with a 1st and goal from the Florida 3, Dobbs threw an interception in the endzone. And there were a slew of dropped passes in that 1st half. That’s 14 points.

Georgia 2016. Jalen Hurd fumbles on the 1 yard line (celebrating before he scored if I recall). Give up a 50 yard TD pass with 10 seconds left (not a Hail Mary). That’s 14 points.

Texas A&M 2016. 7 turnovers. Who knows how many points this prevented and/or put A&M in position to score.

There’s Florida 2017.

I know you can name things from other games and from other seasons. The point is pretty clear. This is not some sort of freak occurrence. It was not out of the ordinary. It’s what Tennessee does under Butch Jones.

For those of you who know what time it is, you know this is nothing new. But, I just wanted to point this out, because Tennessee has been giving points away to the opponent all on their own for a long time now.

I feel like it is poor taste for you to point this out. I don't disagree with your post. I don't want you to feel unwelcome here. Maybe it's just too soon for me.

Also Georgia 2015, their receiver drops the game winning deep ball in the end zone. Butch has a yearly track record of his defense getting beat at the worst times.... System error all day every day

Not at all poor taste. He posts here a ton. He isn't picking at us. Just pointing out the obvious things.

Im fine with UT hiring butch given the state the program was in. He's done his job, which was clean up the program. Now that his job has been completed its time to start the next phase. The next phase is for the AD to meet with the school:boosters and see what's possible. Then start the process of contacting the top coaches around the country. Find out if there's any interest.

Lol, you don't want him to feel unwelcome here right after telling him it was poor taste for him to point it out?

Who gives a s*** who points out the truth? And 99 is better than a ton of the mouth-breather window licker fans we have here. Eff the ones that have a problem with it.

If we had better plans/execution in the first half of games, we wouldn't have to keep playing Russian Roulette every big game.

OP...you see the same mistakes as if you were a Vol fan. If other fans can name that many...huh...there is a problem

Thanks for the observation. We know what we have in Jones. We still have a lot of people who think that as long as we ride with Jones we will be bowl eligible and they are too scared of falling back to the Dooley level to bring themselves to support change. They fail to understand two things. First, Dooley was a historic low point that is unlikely to be repeated in our lifetimes. Second, even if we did regress from where we are now we'd just find someone else.

The amazing thing is Tennessee actually won 3 of those games. One went to OT and one was lost on the final play.

These were just some of the most obvious things. But some of the defensive lapses that occurred in these games where Tennessee gave up 600+ yards, they were mental. They weren't all physical.

Don't you have your own catastrophe to contend with in Gainesville? Your tallest midget, shark-humping, dental disaster is not much better than Butch.

Honestly, mistakes aren't just turnovers in the Butch Era. The field goal in the redzone vs OU in 2015, the long balls against our defense, the loss vs USC when we had 2 weeks to gameplan for it, and the loss vs Vandy.....

These are coaching and systematic mistakes.... Take it this way, Butch is set to surpass the 18 million dollar mark in terms of contract money in his 5 years. As of now, he has averaged 1.28 million dollars per SEC Win IN 5 YEARS!!!!

That is atrocious.
