Hey folks, new guy here. I have been reading for a few weeks but have yet had a reason to post...until now.

I am headed up to Knoxville for the Bama game next week with some friends and I was hoping to get some suggestions of where we can park and tailgate. Specifically where is the best place to get set up? We are driving in from Chapel Hill NC and are staying at the Days Inn North about four miles from the stadium. Not sure if just hanging out there in the hotel parking lot is allowed or would even be worth it. Looking for some suggestions on where I could park near the stadium where it would be ok to grill out and such. In the past we have traveled to Tuscaloosa and met friends there, but this is a rare treat to get to see a home game! any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the Nation

thanks guys. really looking forward to this game. I lived across the hall from Jason Hall in high school and have plans to meet up with him before the game. Bringing a Va Tech fan and a Florida fan who have never seen our wonderful stadium!

Hanging out in the hotel parking lot isn't going to get you much in the way of atmosphere. Take a taxi over to campus and soak in the day. I'm sure you'll find planty of folks who will have no problem with you joining their tailgate. A stop at the Downtown Grill & Brewery or Preservation Pub is also a good idea.

not to knock the Days Inn, but I tend to agree. we are looking to try and get a spot....we got a grill will have plenty of meat and of course bean-bag-toss

aside from beating the snot out of Bama, what more could we want!

*I have yet to see a Vol victory
last year Bama
year before Fla
year before Bama
year before Auburn

Maybe the curse will be undone this year!....I am doubtful, but hopeful

I'm bringing my friend and his wife up for the game, their first. I'm going to show them around, let them get the gameday feel. I wont drink, but they'll want to, and play some 'corn hole'.
I thought it would be a good chance for me to meet some fellow VN'ers and show them a good time. Anybody going to be on the parking garage between TBA and Neyland stadium(G-10?) that has room for them?

I wanted to hang out with kiddiedoc and the gang earlier this year. I walked around up there for a while, there's no way to know who's who. Somebody needs a sign like at the airport, stand there until I find you holding a "Mr. joeydupree" sign ! I will tip !!!

I'm sure we could just go up there and blend on in. I just wanted to specifically rub elbows with some of the Vol Nation royalty.

Be sure to stop by the HALF BARREL right there on the strip (across the street from the Knoxville Bar).
I'll be at the BAMA game this year too. Always a fun game. WE can do it!!!! Ruin their Season.

Hunter/gatherer -
By all means please do go to the game. :) Maybe karma will help us.

Bama will not and does not consider the Tenn game as a sure win. If we do, we'll be in trouble. I expect a tough game and hope Bama can pull out the victory.
