First Tennessee football game you attended

1955 Miss. State. Johnny Majors had a beautiful 65 yd TD but Vols lost 13 7. Me and younger brother sneaked in behind ticket taker at gate in front of old section X. Big trees and grass inside fences on west stands. What a difference a lifetime makes!

Tennessee vs Vanderbilt in November 17th, 2007. The vols were down 24-9 at the end of the 3rd quarter, then Tennessee goes on a 16-0 run in the 4th quarter to win 25-24. That was an awesome game. It was also on my 14th birthday.

will have to scour the record book but it was while Vols were running the single wing and some time after a bobby dood team beat UT in Atlanta because Dad said he would never attend another road game unless he had an extra ticket

definitely remember first basketball game. It was in Nasville vs dores.Dad had floor-level seats

Gosh it was back in the early 60's and I sure can't recall who we played- when I marched with the Elizabethton High School Marching Band, we had competed in the Dogwood Arts Festival... It was a fun week-end in Knoxville and loved being in Neyland for the very first time.

Could not remember the team for my first game but Bowden Wyatt was the coach and Glen Glass was the tailback in the single wing, either 58' or 59' . At least this is the best my memory can provide. Possibly went to a game a year earlier Pretty sure we were already in our seats in section V about 50 rows up. Seven or eight years old...

ditto -- almost sure glass was TB for my first\
dad had gotten me his autograph

Mine was the 1986 season opener against New Mexico. Tennessee won 35-21

You gotta be kidding me! That was mine also. Keith Davis was the RB as I recall. I was lucky enough to be in the postgame locker room; I had escorted a recruit to the game. (Keith McCants) I met Dale Jones The "Hitman" who probably became the most notable in that bunch. "Well we don't give a damn about the whole State of New Mexico"----------lol

Yeah, I was there and as an Alabama native, I despise either of those teams from there. I remember a hot day of sunshine in the first half followed by the torrents of rain that made play almost impossible. Battle had Steve Chancey quick kicking on first down twice with David Langer of AU panicking to get to them. Great times; my last season on The Hill.
I was there in press box, working game for Huntsville Times

Army vs Vols 24-24 tie, 1984.
2nd Army vs Vols, 1986.
Army win on blocked punt late in 4th Q.

Dad is a West Point grad, he was stoked both times, me, I was rooting for dad first, the big orange 🍊 second...
had good fortune to going to game at West Point xduring Homer Smith era

friend of mine at college hitchhiked from NC to that game as his parents had tickets, After leaving someone threw bottle at his parents; car. Parentts' car had Knoxville plates

Typical bammers! Broke my Buddy's RV Mirror, and Bent My Go Vols Tag double, wrecking the mount in the process. Green toothed bammers.
