First team to a BCS game, what say you?

The problem Stoops and Mack Brown will have this year is that they won't be able to really let up off the gas and actually play their future QB. Landry Jones is still sitting behind Bradford, and could be really good, but he'll end up learning on the go. John Childs was supposed to be the Horns QB of the future, but he moved to WR since Colt came back this year. The fact that both will be competing head-to-head in the B12 South AND probably as a Nat'l Title Contender, it's hard to plug in a Freshman or Sophomore w/o PT to learn.

It was debated last year by Mizzou fans whether not RS'ing Gabbert was worth it. When we got waxed by Texas in Austin and knew we weren't a Nat'l Title Contender, it turned into a learning season for Gabbert, and he got a lot of in-game reps, even if was just handing off. He showed some promise in our OOC, where he got most of his PT, and he had a really good spring outside of the B&G Game. A lot of his learning is due to not RS'ing last year in my opinion. Texas and Oklahoma won't have the option of teaching in-game. I think Texas will end up being better than OU in the next few years, but both may have some rough patches (after this year of course).

how does texas being better than OU in the next few years do well for mizzou though? i agree that mizzou's offense is still going to be in good shape like youre implying, but your offense has been great the last two years and you havent been able to get the job done.

I would be worrying about my Defense if I was Mizzou, I think if they even had a mediocre Defense they could at least make it a contest with Texas or OU

With our schedule, we only play Texas or Oklahoma, not both in the same year. We've come close against OU a few times in the regular season, and beat Texas a few years ago. Obviously, half of those games are in Columbia, where we'll always fare better. Just thinking, we have Texas in CoMo this year, and played OU in Norman in '06, so I believe we have OU in Columbia in '10, which would be favorable (don't have the schedule in front of me right now)

In '10 Texas and Oklahoma won't be the powerhouses they are now. Sure, they'll get back to shredding teams, but they'll be missing their guns in 2010 that they currently have.

Mu played Ou tough for 3 quarters at OU's homecoming. Actualy led most of the way. But their D turned into UT's D vs Wyoming and gave up.

Agree 100%. Hard to believe we'll have two first round picks and a 2nd rounder that would have been a 1st if he came out in '07 on last year's D. Will Moore will be starting for the Falcons this year at safety, and he didn't do much last year compared to '06. Ziggy Hood was our best D-Lineman and went to Pittsburgh in the 1st this year. Sean Weatherspoon will be a mid-first round pick this coming year. He is a STUD.

We have a new D-coordinator. One that can actually call the damn plays correctly. Eberflus was a horrible play caller last year. 9 or 10 in the box against a spread O...idiot. Steckel has been on staff, and knows his stuff.

A fumble cost us that game in '06. Maclin was mixed up.

I've never been more drunk after a loss. kU last year in Camerohead was a close 2nd.

All this GT love is kinda making me a little nauseous.

I bleed Orange. Have for a long time, will for all time. However, my wife is a dyed in the wool Tar Heel (God, THAT set of games is gonna be interesting.....), and I kinda have to stick up for her team in this.

I need to double-check, but didn't UNC beat GT last year?? Say what you will about Tech.....but UNC is my "watch" team this year (blame it on the wife.....). I honestly think they're gonna shock a lot of people this year....just like our Vols.

Something just popped into my head.....if UNC did beat GT, and since GT beat UGA, does that mean last year's UNC team > last year's UGA team??? Just curious.....

I would put Ole Miss last. Missouri might get lucky and sneak in as an at large the next time Texas has a down year. Georgia Tech could pull it off because of how poor the ACC is these days. Ole Miss has very little chance.

Call me a homer but i think Tennessee has a legit shot at making a BCS bowl next year. With Florida losing most of their team and Georgia still not being that big of a threat, we have a shot at winning the east (with major QB and o-line improvement that is). Then we are one game away from making the sugar bowl.

We have a shot at winning the East this year. We don't have to beat Florida to do it but it helps. Florida won't be as good next year but they will still be pretty stacked. It could happen though. That's why they play the games

only if you ignore the fact UGA beat LSU who pummeled GT which makes it all equal :p. Plus UNC lost to UVA so my answer is No

The Sugar Bowl is a BCS game. So what is your actual vote?

This:
2010-2020 BCS Appearances: I'll say UT makes 3; GT 2, Missou 1, and none for the Rebs

I was just saying that I would actually like to see Ole Miss make it to a BCS Bowl, but that I don't really think it will happen. I've been to a couple of games in Oxford and the fans I met there were very nice and obviously long-suffering. Maybe this will be their year like some prognosticators think, but I can't imagine them making it to ATL for SECCG, much less the BCS.
