First team to a BCS game, what say you?

Not buying into the Ole Miss powerhouse theory just yet, but out of those four I think Ole Miss would be the first.

I actually think that Ole Miss is the least likely of the teams listed to make a BCS game in the next 5 years or this year. If I had to guess the order in which the teams listed would make a BCS game, I would go:

Tennessee
Georgia Tech
Missouri
Ole Miss

Not buying the Ole Miss hype either. They will be a good team but I don't see them winning the West.

GT
UT
Missouri
OM

If I was betting I would say the first 3 all make a BCS bowl before OM

I agree with this. Nutt isn't exactly the most consistent coach in the world. They played over their heads last year. I look for a more Ole Miss-esque season of 8 wins.

GT

That offense is going to tear up the ACC the next few years. Plus its the ACC....

I can see GT sneaking through the ACC either this season or next season and getting in, but of those three, the Vols will do it most frequently over the next decade.
2010-2020 BCS Appearances: I'll say UT makes 3; GT 2, Missou 1, and none for the Rebs. Not buying OM...but would love to see them sneak into the Sugar Bowl this year as I think that would be great for that fanbase.

I am saddened to see us lumped with the second tier football schools in this poll. According to your list Georgia Tech could get there this year and I like their path better than Ole Miss.

To make me feel better I put us in another list of schools that are down but have prestige. I think we are in good shape on this list.

Tennessee
Auburn
Michigan
FSU
Miami

I'd say Miami before FSU, Tennessee before Auburn, but of the list surely Michigan -- which ordinarily only has to navigate past tOSU and one upstart per year, is in the easiest spot to get there.

fsu and miami play in the ACC. tennessee has florida and georgia in its own division.

there are more sand traps and water hazards for tennessee to make a BCS bowl in the future than fsu and miami.

Someone is going to have to explain to me how Tennessee could possibly go to a BCS bowl next year, given the severe personnel challenges we will face.

Magic.......or defense + Bryce Brown winning our home games.

Florida will be down next year due to mass exodus to the NFL. Have no clue what UGA will be doing. But if UT can win the East they are a game away from the BCS next year.
