What were your first albums - ones you bought or had bought for you?

Here's a few I remember:

American Graffitti Soundtrack
Kiss - Alive (wore this one out)
ZZ Top - Fandango (like it more than I did then)
Foreigner (whichever one had Feels Like the First Time and Cold As Ice)
Ted Nugent - Free For All (when in doubt, I whip it out...)

Prior to that had some 45's (little albums for you young'uns).

All these were played on a crappy little record player - the kind with the flip up lid, handle and speaker built into the front.

President's of the United States of America- Self titled

Their musical prowess was mediocre at best, but they wrote some of the best lyrics.

I always liked the song volcano - "happy campers, pooping their pampers - when the mountain, becomes a fountain..."

Lump and Peaches are both on my Ipod.

As for albums, as a birthday present one year I got a turntable and 3 pieces of vinyl--REO Speedwagon Hi Infidelity, Queen's Greatest Hits, and the Who's Greatest Hits.

Not a bad starter set.

I got a lot of hand me down cassettes and LP from my older brother, but the first thing I remember buying was Bobby Brown, followed pretty closely by G n' R Appetite for Destruction

Earth, Wind and Fire... Raise.

It was the one with Let's Groove.

After that, Herbie Hancock Future Shock.

My neighbor gave me a copy of Dookie by Green Day pretty soon after it came out... I was 6 or 7 at the time.

Not 100% sure. But I think my first album was Midnight Star - No Parking on The Dance Floor.
Man that is old.
