Did Hart hire Saban at Alabama? Wasn't Saban content on staying with his current job before he flip flopped?

Well I'm not pleased with this current search and the names that he supposedly interviewing. They are all producing mediocre teams in mediocre conferences and being in the SEC will only expose their lack of abilities that are currently covered by playing in weak conferences. Hart needs to get 1 of 4 coaches and in this order.
1. Gruden
2. Patterson
3. Peterson
4. Strong
If its anyone else I'll support the team by watching games on tv but will not buy ut gear or even consider attending a game until the coach proves they were worthy. Oh and if hes slow playing this process so he can force Kirby Smart on us, then he needs to be fired before Smart even has a chance to sign the contract.

Hart wasn't at Alabama when Saban was hired. He came the next year (and he was never their AD, so he couldn't have hired anyone anyway). Bowden was also already the coach when Hart got the AD job at FSU, so he didn't do anything there either. People who have confidence in Hart, have no basis for it. He's never hired a top football coach. Also, he got run out of his last high profile AD job (FSU). I would have thought after Dooley, fans would be less lilkely to have confidence in someone with no evidence to back it up, but it appears nothing was learned.

Thank you. Finally, someone who gets it. Hart has been nothing more than a figurehead in AD offices. Never had this much pressure on him before.

i actually think that Hart is tired of the leaks and has completely locked down the Department in complete silence.

I agree with keeping the whole process quiet, and tight until the ink is dry. I actually don't think that the fan base can offer ANY value, ANY opinion on this that matters so we should just shut up and wait.

i totally agree, but i wished he would call and consult with me though :)

I'm sure he has offers out to the coaches he wants to talk to

Not sealing the deal with Gruden because of something on Gruden's end is one thing.
If he the turns around and gets some mediocre coach at a cut rate then let him go back to being the AD at Bama's coffee fetcher.

Fire Jimmy Cheek, Hart atleast negotiated what he has for the AD... there's still a lot to go.

I'm disturbed by how many people liked the OP.

If you want Hart fired for not getting Gruden, AT LEAST wait until you know with 100% certainty that he did not get Gruden before you start calling for him to get fired. My gosh.

Agreed...however, the wrath will be extreme if not a home run hire! If Hart has this ongoing perception that he has blown the Gruden situation and subsequently hasn't gotten a "rock star" coach, this could get uglier. He has had since last year's Kentucky game to be working on this.
