In response to slimebaum's posted article at the top of this thread I decided to drop him a line through an email. I did my best to encompass all of the Rocky Top faithful's mindsets and opinions and I hope I expressed how we collectively feel. Please read my pasted email below. If you disagree strongly feel free to bash me, I can take it. Enjoy...

"In reference to your article (please review: al.com: Sports ), you are an idiot. You are an embarrassment to all Volunteers across the country, the great University, and your parents. First off on my rant, we already took a shot for Gruden. Yes the circumstances of his employment were different at the time of our request, yet we still took a shot and it wasn't meant to be.

Your articles/gossip columns lack any real objective substance in your reporting and your time would be better utilized lending your extraordinary talents in reporting to the National Enquirer for its obsession with "BigFoot" sightings. Whether you are a "Fulmerite" or a Vol fan thirsting for a new direction is irrelevant. What is relevant right now is that "The Hill" has a new head ball coach who is doing what he feels is necessary to set the program back on the right track. Granted, his tactics and enthusiasm for the program's proverbial "uphill climb" may seem a bit extreme for some or laughable to others, the evidence is there that we are once again ruffling feathers and making waves in the world of the SEC. No doubt a dissapointing '09 season will feel like another setback, but at least then you will have the privelage of saying you earned your money with your pen this time. For the time being I suggest moving south to Bammer land and hiding behind Mt. Cody. No Vol will ever find you behind his fat ass.

I'm sure by now you realize how hated you are and I hope this response to your work makes you cry. I hope to God we have a hell of a program under Kiffin's tenure and all of your whining and bitching is for nothing. Don't ever attempt to even call yourself a Vol, an alumnus of UT, or anything mildly regarding your affilition with the state of Tennessee. Pick up a crimson and creme pom pom and "stick it where the sun don't shine".

Oh and on a lighter note, if you were a True Vol, you would know that Smokey isn't a "mutt" as your reference him, but rather a Pure Bred Blue Tick Coon Hound coming from quite a distinguished lineage.

unfortunately people will be saying fire Kiffin if this year's team doesn't at least go 8-4, 9-3.....people need to be patient; at the games I often have to yell at people who chant "bring in Stephens" "bring in Coleman" after crompton's first incompletion of a game..yeah we should hope for kiffin to at least keep the Florida game close because of his statements "can't wait to beat florida and sing rocky top all night...." but I think just with any other coach you have to let him get 3-4 years of recruiting and then see where the team stands..

Wish you had told him to come on up here to K'ville and talk to the administration about it....everyone is just sitting here waiting for him to tell us what we should do and who we should have as a coach! We would love to 'talk' to his skinny butt....what an idiot he is to even think he could influence what goes on in K'ville....he thinks because the bammers salivate over his words, that everyone else does too. He lives in B'ham and that is a great place for him.

But, that's not what most of the VN members think. Me personally, I think he should have done a double check of the rules before he called Urban Meyer out. Then again, I think his objective was completed, and that was to stir the pot a little bit.

LMAO... Finebaum is laying in to Cheezit today for saying he has never failed at this position. The biggest idiot barner that calls into Finebaum (Charles for those of you that listen) just told Paul that if he didn't lay off coaches he was going to get assassinated. Said that a UT fan would do it.
