Kinda reminds me of the Bell Witch story.

Was a big myth growing up in Middle Tenn. Supposedly if you closed your eyes and said "Bell Witch, Bell Witch" three times, and opened your eyes she would be behind you!

All kinds of crazy things like that. Apparently, she haunted a family and drove them all crazy and killed them. She still is in a cave up near Clarksville. You can go and visit it. I believe it!

There's all kinds of stories like that in N GA. Quite a few in Gainesville; one about some girl who apparently committed suicide at the Brenau University theatre. Supposedly she haunts the place. I can't think of all of the details but it was a good story. They do a tour every Halloween, pretty interesting stuff going on in the square of Gainesville. Also, I think the Virginia Dare stones were traced to Brenau. Virginia Dare being the girl on the Outer Banks.

AND Virginia Dare of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. So not technically the Outer Banks I guess.
