I think the x-factor of this game could potentially be jajuan smith. If pearl drew up some plays these last couple of days to get jajuan OPEN shots and make him feel less jealous of lofton, tenn has a great chance...

IMO, i really think Pearl will contain Oden...when i say contain i don't mean stop because its close to impossible for tenn's players (regardless of the coach) to shut him down...so, i dont think Oden will have a BIG game....

but what i think will kill us (judging by reynold's perfomace against us last week) is OSU's guard play....

OSU 73
Tenn 64

I REALLY REALLY hope im wrong on this one...

GO VOLS!

Our best bet to win this game is to take the ball into the middle on offense against Oden in order to get him in foul trouble. He can't hurt us sitting on the bench!!!

I think UT has to play its best game while Ohio State does not. Their personel as a whole is better than ours, and we have no answer for Oden. That means we have to shoot better than they do, and we have to force their guards into turnovers and bad decisions.

That is not an impossible task--we have done it several times this year against teams that put more talent on the floor than we can--but it is still a pretty tall order.

I think the most obvious thing is to get Lofton going. If he doesnt get his 20+ then we wont have a chance against OSU.

If Lofton gets going then JaJuan will have to have a somewhat decent game and then Wayne Chism and Ryan Childress will have to hit some threes as well.

We also have to force a lot of turnovers and dictate the pace from the start of the game.

Get ODEN in Foul Trouble. Go Right at him if you have to.

Also, OSU will exploit our weakness - that is not moving fast enough to defend the screen. Time after Time UVA or some other team shot 3's over us because we could not defend the screen thus leaving them wide open.

Saying this again.... DEFEND THE SCREEN! PUT A HAND UP WHEN HE'S SHOOTING!

I just don't think that statement is accurate. Jajuan has said more than once that he feels he has to shoot the 3 and hopefully make them in order to get Lofton more open looks. When Jajuan gets hot, they can't focus on Lofton as much.

That and I don't think Jajuan is the jealous type.

Tennessee 75
Ohio State 64

UT comes out hot, Ohio State becomes the first UT opponent all season not to shoot around 120% from three. Why not.

If the Vols are leading after 20 minutes in the second half, I feel good about our chances of pulling the upset!:dance2:
