I don't think people realize how great of a kicker Medley is. One of the best in the nation, and he's in our backyard. You ask him to be a preferred walk on and he could and should look elsewhere. We've had kickers not even close to the level Medley is at on scholarship. Happy to have him in this class as a scholarship player.

I'm not even a little bit worried about it. Medley will be on scholarship with the rest of the 2014 class. You can tell CBJ seriously values a quality kicking game. I think he takes a lot of pride in the turnaround Palardy has made this year. I have no doubt CBJ sees Medley as a huge piece to the winning recipe going forward.

So...

We have one spot left,

We desperately need 2 more DTs (probably 1 Juco, 1 HS),

We're clearly pursuing a 3rd RB,

Malone is at the top of everyone's board,

There's no way we'll turn down Garrett or Jackson,

And the frequently-mentioned names to drop or grey-shirt seem unlikely to drop or grey-shirt (Paulk's been told his scholarship will be honored, Dews insists he won't GS, Moseley is an EE so running out of time if he's not in the cards)

The next 3 months should be fun!

That is why I think we take 1 more DT which gets us to 30. Malone will take Dews spot as he will not GS here. Keeps us at 30. Paulk and Moseley will be part of this class and on scholarship IMO. ONLY way we get Garrett or Jackson is IF Bryant does not stick. IMO, that is the way it plays out.

Very little chance it happens that way with so much time before NSD.

Malone and Paulk will be on scholarship, and so will a 3rd RB if they can get one. There is in reality a bunch of spots left.

Most would have bet we would not be sitting at 29 commitments with 3+ months till NSD either. I think recruiting has changed and if the kids are not taking visits, I don't see any reason they don't stick. I look at who is left on the board and who we stand to take.

Malone- would any of our WRs bail if we add Malone? I don't think so. Most have stated competition is part of it and they welcome it.

Another DT- Lambert feels he will play SDE as much or more than DT. Barnett is in the same boat IMO. He waited to decide as he said he did NOT want to flip flop. Adding another DT does nothing to this group IMO.

A RB- Since the staff has said it will honor Paulks scholarship, I don't think he is going anywhere. Hurd is all Vol and going nowhere no matter who we sign.

Jackson and Garrett are long shots at best and I don't think we are a serious option for either. Gavin Bryant is the only recruit that could be a wildcard spot to open up IMO. Honestly I hope his grades are good to go and he decides bama and au slow playing him is enough to stick with the Vols.

There is? Really? It looks to be 2-3 spots left to me. Maybe you can see something I can't. The whole "they will make room" talk is silly when the number is set at 30. Just because other coaches have dropped commitments and pulled shady recruiting tactics does not mean it will play out like that with this class.

Over dramatic gif IMO. The Dews grayshirt option was not pulled out of thin air. Hubbs, P Fort, and Callahan have all suggested this could occur. Academic casualties may come into play as well.

At present, Dews has an offer from Purdue. I think the staff suggests he accept it before it's off the table.

What's the staffs big board looking like?

They want Malone, Mosley, another RB, two juco DL and then after that I think it's just best available and who is left depending on the timing.

We have 4 recruits to fill 1 spot. I know that there has been talk of Dews gray shirting but that would only leave 2 spots. Who else would be told to look around?
