I grew up on video games starting with the 2600. But with games like FFX, GTA3, Halo, Gran Turismo 3, Tony Hawk 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry, SSX, Super Smash Bros Melee, and Advance Wars, 2001 may have been the best year in video games ever.

I'm not going to lie. I got to the very end of FFX and had trouble with one of, if not the very last boss. Never did beat it. May return to it one day, though, since it was a great game.

Honestly X was the only I tried to legitimately play all the way through. Played a demo of FF7 way back when, and tried to pick up and play FF8 at one point, but couldn't get into it. I ended up selling it to a friend. Since FFX I haven't played any of them.

Took me forever to get past the lady at the end...Cant remember that whores name.

I had to use the strategy guide to get through it.

I forgot how far I got but me and my buddy had many late nights trying to beat the different boss battles. He was tough. I never actually beat the entire game, sadly.

Would highly recommend FF7. The storyline is one you will never forget

I played a demo of FF7 as well. Came with some magazine I bought. I loved it. Borrowed it from a friend 2 days later. That is one game I've played through multiple times.

Hardest boss for me was the final guy in FF9. After a couple of hours trying I genuinally thought I wouldn't beat him and would have to go back to a previous save and get stronger. But I did beat him eventually at that level.

FF10 took me a few tries. I remember I had a hard time with FF2(American). But that was my first time playing a FF game so I had a lot to learn.

Can't wait for my copy to get here today. Glad I've been taking a video game hiatus. I'm gonna play the hell out of this and go for 100%.

Loving it so far. For those who didn't like XIII cause the linearity, this one is very open. I would compare it to XII in how open it is. Maybe even more so.

For those who want to play this but couldn't finish XIII, there's a nice little narrated summary of the story, accessible from the title screen. Also includes a montage of the scenes from XIII.

For those who have beat XIII, this reads your cleared XIII game save and gives you a theme, as well as a bonus item to start out and other hidden things throughout the game.

I had the CE preordered from Amazon. It comes with an art booklet, and the 4 disc soundtrack. Pretty nice. Amazon bonus lets you access Omega as a party member.

Crap, I hope I left my final save on there. I remember going through and deleting a bunch of old saved game stuff for a few games about a month ago.

I found out a copied save from anybody's profile will work.

I'm really digging the soundtrack on this too so far.

Glad to hear your positive vibes on the game so far. Especially the openess. Gives me some hope that I'll enjoy it.

Nevermind on the chocobo. Apparently Chichu the ochu is by far the best monster member.

Other tips I've come across so far that might be useful:

-If you recruit a sentinel (like a Pulsework Soldier), and you pump a lot of HP upgrades into it, they have ridiculous amounts of HP for tanking.

-pay attention to your monster's passive abilities. Some of them may not have as good stats as others, but they might have really useful passive abilities like Item Collector (increases rare treasure drop rate) or Gilfinder II. Like Caith Sith is a good medic, but I use a leech as my medic because he boosts my rare treasure rate by at least 110%. Just have to make sure he's in battle at the end.

-On the Crystarium, its best to progress all the roles as evenly as possible, rather than just focus on one or two. The exception is to be careful what role you use the large nodes on. For Serah, you want to use the large nodes on Ravager, or SAB (if the current level is even), or SYN (if the current level is even). For Noel, you'll want to use large nodes on Commando, or SAB (if the current level is odd), or SYN (if the current level is even). That's the best way to maximize your stats.
