⚽️ #2 LADY VOLS SOCCER THREAD (Sunday 9/7 1pm Regal Stadium SEC+ vs GSU)

6 straight without giving up a goal is mind blowing.
I was at the match. Tennessee's size advantage was telling. I don't think Memphis won many balls in the air. Memphis defense was solid all night, but Tennessee seemed to have a sizable advantage in possession. They're a much better passing team. Memphis should have let Lavin take the pen. Vols are lucky she didn't.

Talking about size advantage.
I didn’t realize that Anaiyah Robinson was 6’1”.
Yesterday was her first appearance for the Lady Vols, she was recovering from an injury.
You could tell she was a bit rusty but she is gonna be a dynamite player. I have a feeling she will find her rhythm on Sunday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn.
– The No. 2/4 Tennessee soccer team continued its unbeaten and shutout streak to six matches after putting up a 0-0 draw against No. 14/15 Memphis.

UT now sits 2-0-1 against top-15 opponents in 2025. Additionally, Thursday's result marked the third shutout of the season against a top-15 opponent and is the fifth in the Joe Kirt era.

Throughout six matches UT (5-0-1) has not allowed a goal. Additionally, the Tigers (5-0-1) were held scoreless for the first time this season after Cayden Norris and the Tennessee backline came up big with clutch saves and clearances. Norris made five saves in goal for the third time this season.

Norris' biggest save was her second of the night in the 41st minute when she saved a penalty kick from Memphis' Ashley Henderson.

Norris then went on to secure four more saves throughout the night.

Jenna Stayart, Leah Klurman and Sarah Kate Rath each put shots on frame for the Big Orange but were unable to break through.

Henderson led the Tigers with three shots on goal as Abby Kudla made three saves in goal.

UP NEXT: Tennessee returns home to Regal Stadium Sunday and is set for a 1 p.m. ET matchup against Georgia Southern. Senior day will take place following the match.

That is one thing we need to work on is consistent serve in on corners. It wasn’t good last night. All over the place we have the height advantage need to use it.
