Just to help out with the conversation about JM.

"We do film study on every play from Joe Milton and the Tennessee Volunteers against the Texas A&M Aggies. Is Joe Milton to blame?"

~Bluechip Breakdown

IMO, JM has struggled at times, but he is not getting much help from his WRs. I would not bench him.

The Youtuber does a good job of breaking down Joe's plays. Worth the watch.

Wr's are not getting out of their breaks and were swallowed up a lot. OL has to block, WR needs to run crisp clean routes and finish them, not to mention catch the ball. Joe needs to deliver the ball and stop throwing late. The int was a poor read at best. The throw was good just to the wrong guy.

Name me one QB in the last 20 years that has not had games like JM?

Name me one QB in the lat 20 years at UT that has not had games like JM. If I remember right, Peyton had 4 Ints against Florida. I think UT fans are being way too hard on Joe. Does it make me more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs? YES!

When watching it live. I was watching JM locked in on the slot receiver and as soon as I saw the receiver break inside I said “no!” And he threw it. He never looked the safety off or looked at any other options. But I also understand it’s a lot faster and as a fan watching on TV i can obviously see the bigger picture than him. I wished when he saw the db drop
Back. He tucked it and run.

I think he was so amp'd up after running the guy over he got a little beside himself. But still not a good decision to throw that.

Yeah I knew it when he let it go also. He has got to do better. His wr have to give him some help also. The coaches may actually use the TEs and backs more going forward.

Bluechip Breakdown said JM should have looked the safety off and that may have been a TD.

Could have been just not sure you can look a guy off that is shaded to that side of the field. He was the robber. Which means he is clouding the middle. He saw it the whole way.

What year did Peyton throw those 4 int to Florida ? Freshman ? or senior ? I think folks had higher hopes for JM based on his time playing college ball and also based on some games he's played well but you never know which JM is gonna show up.

Yes good QBs have had bad games. That’s not what makes me nervous. What does is the fact that the coaches did not seem to trust him to throw after that pick. Yes we were running the ball well, but it sure seemed like they wanted to take the game out of Joe’s hands (and against a bad A&M secondary).

But they were in man on the backside, so looking left would have caused the robber to drift a couple of steps in that direction, giving JM a window.

Joe needs short routes and te use to be successful. Get the rbs involved on some flares and potential wheel routes. Use the TEs and Nimrod. Squirrel needs the vertical routes the rest of the year unless Leacock emerges. We dont need 300 a game from Joe we just need balance and the ability to throw a deep ball to someone who CAN catch it this year

Should have threw it there to begin with. Look at the spacing ? There was no way in hell that guy could make a play on the ball. Give that guy a chance 1 vs 1

That's a good observation. He does need to learn to use his eyes to help out our receivers.
