Filling out...

I lived and died with it enough to know that having a job that depends upon the decisions of 18 and 19 year olds isn't how I'd ever choose to make my living. To those that do, I salute you. I can't imagine beginning the relationship in December and having a fanbase wringing their hands about how it's gonna turn out 60 something days later.

Geez O Pete! Anybody got a clue why the rest of the nation might view us with a critical eye? UT football has survived for 117 years. Somehow. And only the about a quarter of that time did the average fan have any idea who we might sign. Let's get a little perspective about this. Anything above what we already have this year is gravy. The staff is sowing seeds. Next year is when the hay comes in.

Of course you agree I picture the two of you as Voldemort and Vader sitting around staring at each other wondering why you have no more friends.

Looking good?? According to Rivals, Virginia, Utah, Oregon St., Kansas, Illinois, and South Florida are all ranked ahead of UT in class ranking.

Only for now. When we pull 2,3 or 4 of these guys (Bell, Leavenberry, Ford, North, Lawson, etc) which it looks like we will, we'll look a lot better in ranking and finish top 15-20. Keep the faith. I'm feeling very positive about where we are given who we're still in with.:eek:k:

Perception changes really quickly when a program starts winning. And...honestly, if Penn freaking State can still have a decent recruiting class (based on the outside perception factor) then I like our chances to turn things around. Go Vols!

Couldnt agree more. It can turn quickly. Think of all the programs that, with the right leadership, good coaching and a few studs that have significant improvement almost overnight. Happens all the time. I honestly believe we're about to experience that here. The infusion of energy that bUTch and his staff have brought has been great and I think we'll see the benefits in the Fall. GBO!

I think I have to agree with fade. I guess its a positive we even still have a shot with these guys but in terms of looking good we are far from that.

An athletic dept 200M in debt, getting spurned by green, losing recruits to arky, and even having a player in the super bowl use the podium in order to absolutely rip into TN. It seems it doesn't look good to me. Why do I feel like we battle these things every single year?

I'm thinkin Bama probably felt this way a few years ago while they wandering the wilderness for Satan got there. There are alot of reasons to have a positive outlook - problems have been identified and are being addressed, Kiffin/Dooley are gone and it looks like we have a classy, energetic successful guy excited as hell to be here and turn this around. Money wise, winning + new TV revenue/deal catches us up in a few years. Also, don't need anymore capital outlay in the immediate future cause facilities are top notch. When we land a few of these big fish next week we'll all feel better. Just sayin... I feel we're headed in the right direction fast!:dance2:

Who trashed UT on a podium?

The point total for Virginia is based on 20 recruits, Utah is 30, Illinois 26, Ok State 22, and South Florida is 22. The point total for UT is for 16 recruits......So, when we fill out the slots by NSD we will be much higher than those particular schools.....not that I think we are out of the woods on the big picture, but if you are going to compare things, at least keep it apples to apples.
