2026 USA Women's World Cup Roster
    • Guards: Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, Sonia Citron, Chelsea Gray, Rhyne Howard, Jackie Young
    • Forwards: Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Kiki Iriafen, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart
    • Center: Aliyah Boston [1, 2]
(Note: Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen were added to the roster in late August 2026, replacing A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum, who withdrew for health reasons.)

China's 7'3 player, Zhang Ziyu, was an interesting watch. She made the USA players look like little kids.

But she literally could not jump and she has the slowest reflexes this side of a tree sloth. She can shoot over everyone but was so slow in getting to her shooting motion that the US defenders took the ball from her or tied her up more often than not.

The slightly smaller Xu Han (6'10) is the far more impressive player. She is pretty mobile and has a good all round skill set.

Han xu to me resembles Richard Kiel

At the risk of sounding petty, all those who lambasted me for having the temerity to suggest that Chelsea Gray could handle the grabby, pushing physicality of FIBA better than CC, have been strangely silent after the Italy game.

There was one play where an Italian guard was really trying to get in Gray's grill, Gray first pushed off her and then the Italian got even tighter and Gray went full linebacker mode and drove into her shoulder first. The Italian player went flying back 10 feet. She did not attempt to get that tight again (Irony of ironies, she was the one assessed the foul).

Not starting Clarke is asinine. She is the best or second best player on the planet. Its like starting Dave Cowens over Chamberlain..Do better Kara..

Kara is paid to win another gold medal not pledge her allegiance to the CC cult. Clark was not the only player to struggle against Italy but Kara found the closing line-up to get the job done.

There may be other games where CC shines

Some folks do take their Caitlin love to fanatical extremes. And yes, madtown has been known to rage bait that particular crowd. Recognize it for what it is. DP is one of my favorite posters when speaking LV analysis, just keep them away from the AR discussions! 🤣

Please note my Beatification of CC thread was without question parody/sarcasm. It did manage to keep that crowd corraled for a few days… 🤙🏼👌🏼🧡
